You can't do the stance from BT. The opponent has to step around you when you do it from front turned.

Yeah, wall splats are the only way you can consistently do it since the camera doesn't know wtf is going when half the time. It's pretty gimmicky tho since the person literally has to just not know Cerv can shoot them from BT DC.
