I know exactly what you mean. I had to find a FG group and pretty much build the SC stuff myself. Too bad I had to move, at least my friend took it over for me.

On topic: It would be awesome if there was a thread about when people first found their local FG scene.

Pardon my noobidity, but what is FG? >_> I am a very sheltered SC player. I haven't even touched online play <xD

I played SC series when i was little. SC2 was the first SC game i ever played and after that i fell in love with the game. SC2 i loved Ivy! Then in SC3 i fell in love with Taki!!!!!!!

I really don't recall when I first heard of the series, I have some vague memories of reading about SC on Dreamcast but in spite of being the console's killer app I somehow never touched it.

A few years later, I have a PS2. I read up on SCII. Sounded awesome, got it. Spammed Nightmare's 66B and 236B through the whole game, even Inferno seemed to fall for it O: I was hooked in spite of not exploring the depth of the game at all. Did the same thing with SCIII.

...Come SCIV, things were just *SLIGHTLY* different. Less spamming, I fell in love with Tira <3

As a 8year old, I found Soul Edge/Soul Blade in a library of games owned by my cousin on PSone. That's how it all started for me.....I feel like a broken record saying this again.

That's me too!! The only reason I got into Ivy in SC2 was because I thought she was the president due to her 2P costume XD But in SC3 I sided with Tira, Taki, and Setsu :P

I just cast my vote for SC1, and LOL'd over how nobody's first SC was 3. Thank God for that.

Anyway I was one of those hipsters that owned a Dreamcast over a PlayStation (something I deeply regret, especially not owning a PS2 which had practically the best games ever made...ever). Got it as a birthday gift and lo and behold the first game I was given was SC1. Played the shit out of it and unlocked everything, and continuously wondered why Inferno was a mass of fire with armor in Arcade Mode and a weird lava blob when played as a normal character. Good times in Mission Mode and customizing the intro.

My dad played (plays) a lot of video games when I was growing up. When I was about 7, my dad told me that link was in a new fighting game. I was excited to get it. But I didn't even play with Link, I became attached to Talim and Cassandra. Eventually sc2 became the newest game we would play as a family. I practiced very hard and won most of the time.

Thinking about it now I do remember him playing soul blade but I was really young then.

I'd heard of it before, but never gave it a chance until I was over at a friend's house and he busted out SC II. I loved it so much that I had to buy it about a month later, and every sequel to come after it (besides the spin-off titles).
