I'm done...

Maybe put SC4 down and play this one for a while:

This is sorta like what happened 5 minutes ago on srk where a guy was complaining about how he has to pick mitsu online to when against other mitsu's to win and he's gonna quit the game over it. Do you even look at what your typing? This "online" generation of kids have alot to learn I tell ya.

New school fighting game players are so weak... go cry to someone else and please stop posting on the internet.

Thanks in advance!

this thread is hilarious... I wonder if this kid just needs some anti-depressants to even out a little.
Someone should seriously call his parents and have him put on suicide watch.

Oh, I'm sorry, the only kind of bitching you people take in around here is if I'm whining about losing to Yoda all the goddamn time.

You know what? You're all right. I'm being a faggot about this.

But that still won't change my mind about the game. I don't want to play Soul Calibur IV anymore.

Give it a time maybe. I got a bit burned and stopped playing for 2 weeks or so. Now I don't have much time to play, so I enjoy it more when I can play.

If a video game is causing you to become malcontent and suicidal, you really should consider taking up another hobby.. like, playing with puppies or picking flowers.

I've been "done" with this game, so many times. Getting beaten badly by lag + maxi / kilik spam while they're laughing is just so freakin' annoying. I've put the game on eBay about 12 times, cancelled it 11 times, sold it once, then bought it again (full retail)...... I just can't give it up.
Everytime it pisses me off (always lag-related bullshit losses) i just put it down for a while.
I go and play some Ninja Gaiden 2 or some Battleifeld. Something that won't piss me off.

So, essentially, you needed to validate your ego by proving you could beat them, and then stopped so that you could validate yourself by showing your opponents your disdain for the game, and then posted about it online for everybody to read so you could validate yourself with the attention you'd get from everybody reading about just how much it is you don't care? Am I in the ballpark there?

I'm shocked this thread has continued so far past this point.

In any case, I noticed your location isn't in your profile, so I can't tell where you're from. My advice would be to find local tournaments and offline competition, because I can pretty much guarantee you haven't reached your limit, skill wise.

Or you can just quit, play whatever else.

SC4 isn't really good though

What does that have to do with what you were quoting?

Anyways to TC: The whole ego validation response pretty much hit the nail on the head...

but what I don't understand is if the challenge is gone now; why not learn another character.

I mean I've worked on solid Asta and Tira games and now I've started to pick up Rock and Algol....dabbling with Mina but I just don't feel her.

The game is only as fun as you can make it. To me it just sounds like bullshit egoism and I for one don't care for your tales of ownage if you're sick of the game...I find it rude above all else to post how you're gonna stop playing the game; on a SC forum. Was it really something that needed to be said?

This isn't like saying you're going to quit smoking; where support and shit would be welcomed...if you say you ain't gonna play you'll get one of two responses; a) try another character or do so and so or b) gtfo cause we don't care.

I gave you both and I feel like i've just wasted my time even replying to this because it was probably futile.

It means this game is way too scrubby compared to sc2, tekken or vf to call someone soft.

I was saying in general... isn't limited to the Soul Calibur community (which I would say has the least respect of any other fighting game crowd... unless you consider smash to be a fighting game)

SC2 at high levels was a lot of 5 moves X and Sophie turtling their ass off, with the occasional Yoshi tryin to rush that shit down, only a couple were good enough to reach the top though.

This game demands greater variety, quicker reactions (you can't just stand back and defend all day) and stronger mindgames to be successful than SC2. You don't have a leg to stand on calling this a scrub game compared to SC2.
