Le Bello's Challenging Create-A-Soul Challenge Contest!

Ok, that's freaking awesome...at first sight.

After a few seconds you realize the turtle sell in the head, then laught. XD I think any hood would done better job but...still overall feeling is great
Unfortunately, no hood can mix with the terror mask, due to it being a "helmet" rather than a "mask" :(

Forgive me if this is outside of the contest guidlines, but...

Nice. But is that a zipper on his arm?

DOH! then my vote is for Sett.

I think Kilik design is awesome, if was an original character I'd say "great" but...this challenge was about recreate SCV outfits, and for me, being honest, it doesn't resembles SCV Kilik at all.

With the desqualified Nightmare, or Le Bellos girl, the 1st impression was "WOW its him" with Kilik my first reaction was like "It suspose that's kilik"

Hmm.. the obvious choice for me was Draco. END OF STORY... Given that its out of the contest, i had to go back and examine my 2nd and 3rd choices.

Sett's Damp. was a decent recreation and it looked pretty good.. It was easy on the eyes. Aside from looking good, it had a decent representation of technical CaS skills. The difficulty in recreating it seems a tad low though...

Neclord's Pat wasn't necessarily "pretty"... but what it lacked in aesthetics, it made up for in technicality. Aside from the technical aspect, it seemed a little un-finished--sleeves lacked stickers, ect. The fact that it was a pat 1p made it seemed cheapened as the costume lacks many interesting features (save for maybe the bobcat). With that in mind, i just felt like it wasn't a challenging recreation.

At the end of the day.. the challenge was kind of a bummer. BUT!! i do understand it was supposed to be a bummer!

My Vote goes to Sett. Looked good--looked like skill was put into it. AND it didn't look rushed. Colors were close too.

What kind of things do you all like as themes then? An abstract word to embody? Make an 'x'? Recreations aren't so popular, so it's likely I won't be doing those in the future.

I've got a few ideas for the next one, so hopefully it won't disappoint, but if the challenge isn't interesting, nobody has any fun.

Argh, I'm torn. In terms of accuracy Sett's Damp is brilliant (even with the bewbs) but the sheer balls of attempting Kilik- and how it actually works- is also really impressive on d_b's part. Similarly for Yoshariolll's Leixiatsu.

They all caught my eye (along with Draco's Nightmare- whose rejection was a crying shame, btw) but I think d_b just noses infront with the "Oh snap, I didn't see that coming" factor. Very carefully and very well made. d_b gets my vote.

As for the themes of challenges I think people just enjoy a degree of wriggle room. Recreations are popular I just don't think a lot of peope saw much creative freedom in copying outfits already in the game. Personally speaking I like putting my own twist on things and seeing the twists other people come up with. Challenges like Talim, The 4 Horsemen and the fairies worked well because you had familiar ideas while also leaving enough space for people to be creative and do their own things with them. In this instance that wasn't really the case. Sure you could improvise and make a close aproximation to what you wanted but at the end of the day the end result would never be 100% bang on perfect which can be offputting for some.

I think as long as the concept isn't too limiting, people will enter and enjoy it. This one was maybe a little too limiting. Just my 2 pennies.

I'm disappointed that I never thought of using two moons to make a double moustache like Scyle's I did put one moon over the face but it was uneven and it had never occurred to me to use two. So I just went for a bushy Raccoon tash xD

Also Scyle's hat kicks the shit out of mine.

and yeah, the more I stare at mine the worse it becomes, whereas d_b remains flawless.
