I could have just recycled one of my other characters for this but I went with something more grounded and realistic...with a ghost dog...my reasoning is unassailable. Anyway, while Scotland has this image of being full of overweight, ginger, bearded psychopaths in reality we were brutal, vicious bastards with a healthy dose of superstition. ZWEI's style was picked over the Claymore because it's a little unexpected but does fit with highland myths and superstitions with the wolf. The style also has a brawler feel. It's like he's a knife fighter or some thug willing to headbutt you before stamping on your head and feeding said head to his dog.
As for his physical appearance, tartan is to be expected. Maybe not historically accurate but it's one of the visual tells for Scottish folk. Battered armour and smeared blue face paint were used to suggest a weathered but enduring sense of pride...because every Scotsman who's watched our country perform in any sport knows exactly what that is like.
