We are almost half of the way through our league and it's shaping up to be a very exciting league indeed. jimmypikachuchoi and MysticBill are battling it out full force and are almost neck and neck taking the 1st and 2nd positions in the Tier 1 group, but jimmypikachuchoi still has a comfortable cushion against Bill; will Bill's latest tourney victory be the beginning of more?; Outlaw now has a better cushion in the Tier 2 group . BTW, ppl who have not yet paid their $10 to become eligible for our SCIV League to be eligible to win a PS3 or 360, their current ranking points will be reduced by half, until they decide to finally pay the $10. Then the remaining tourneys they enter, they will get full credit. I won't actually reduce the points, for simplistic sakes, until they do decide to pay the $10.Even if you're not gonna be 100% committed to this league, it'd still be nice or cool to show support to your Madison SC Community, n'est-ce pas? We can't just rely on me winning every tourney, and using my prize money as the only way to get those PS3's...

Tourney Rules:
-BYOC, PLEASE
-Standard Double Elimination Bracket(you lose 2 matches and you're out)
-One match is the best 2/3 fights 3/5 rounds each fight.
-No Vader or bonus characters as mentioned, ALgol BANNED!!!
-Bring your own PS3 controller as they will not be provided.
-If you pause the game by accident, you automatically forfeit that round, unless the opponent wishes to continue the round.
-If you pause and then press select, you automatically lose that fight.
-Only the loser of the fight gets to change characters, if desired. The winner of the first fight will not be allowed to switch. If the winner were to lose the next fight, then he/she would be allowed to change characters in the final fight.
-Default time
***ALSO, ...NO DRUGS, NO ALCOHOL, NO SMOKING, NO SEX in the venue. You will be Disqualified, if you are caught doing any one of those 4 items in the venue location...
OK, so we are going to be having 20 weekly tournaments. And there is going to be ranking points involved. Whoever ranks the highest among the SCIV players, will win a PS3 or XBox360 of their choice. in order to be eligible to try to win the XBox360 or PS3, you have pay the $10.00 entry fee. The remaining tourneys will be just a $3.00 entry fee. At the end of this first tournament, to be fair, we will have a survey that everyone can fill out, stating who they feel are the most dangerous or threatening SCIV players out there. The 10 people who collect the most votes, in order for them to win a PS3 or XBox360, they will have to finish on top of the SCIV rankings at the end of the 20 weeks. For those who were not considered to be a threat, whoever finishes on top among them, will also win a PS3 or XBox360. So hypothetically speaking, if someone were not voted to be top 10 material and ended up having the most points at the end of the 20 wks, they could, hypothetically win both prizes. We will need to raise alot of money, but it is very possible.
That is why all the entry fees for this tournament will be used for the grand prize of the XBox360 and/or PS3. The remaining 19 tournaments, the prize pot will be distributed:
1st 50%
2nd 30%
3rd 10%
and 10% will automatically go toward our PS3 and Xbox360 prize at the end of the 20 wks
*for the future tourneys, should someone decide to pay the $10 fee to take a crack at the PS3/360 prize, that will go toward the actual PS3/360 prize, not the prize pot.
The tentative schedule for the tourneys are: 1) 8/9/08, 2) 8/16, 3) 8/23, 4) 9/5, 5) 9/13, 6) 9/20, 7) 10/4(10 Pin), 8) 10/11, 9) 10/25, 10) 11/1(10 Pin), , 11/15, 11/22(10 Pin), Thxgiving Break, 12/6, 12/13, 12/20(10 Pin), Merry X-mas and New Yr Break, 1/10/09, 1/24/09, 1/31/09, 02/07/09 REGIONALS...(Counts as bonus tourney, not actual Madison Tourney), 02/21/09, 02/28/09(END of 20 wk tournament, prize distribution)
