MGS4 on 360?!

Should Konami produce MGS4 for the 360?

Arrite, this thing is everywhere else so it might as well infect 8WR in the process!

I'm sure everyone has heard about Konami "looking hard" at a MGS 4 port to 360. I, as a 360 owner don't know how to feel about this. Is Metal Gear selling out if they follow through? Do I care if they "sell out"? They're a company, created to make money.

My question is: Will a port of this game be worth the effort? Will 4+ disks for the game cost $150.00? and the Big one: Will the game play the same and have the same feel? MGS has always been designed with Playstation in mind. How will they deal with the six-axis aspects of the game in a manner that will keep you feeling like you're playing Metal Gear and not just some cheap knock off?

Considering MGS4 was developed for the PS3 with the PS3's specs in mind, the 360 port (if it gets one) is going to be half asses, specially considering Kojima has shown annoyance toward the people constantly pestering him about putting MGS4 on 360. So if he does, he going to half ass it just to shut people up. Similar to how he half asses the MGS2 port for the Xbox.

Honestly,if this happens,it's over for Sony.
I mean...they have NOTHING anymore,there will literally be no reason to buy a PS3 what so ever,unless you want a cheap blue ray.

But in all honesty,I hope it does happen,cause I want MGS4...and I'm not about to spend $464.94 dollars JUST for that.

I'm sick of hearing about this. The only reason this topic is brought up is because you own a 360 and not a Playstation 3.

Every goddamn generation we have this bullshit over something or another.

Bite the bullet and buy a playstation when the price drops to your reasonable standards...

be patient and wait...and get it when it's in your price range and you are willing to buy it - if you truly want to play the game.

Isn't that what it's supposed to be about? Your desire to play it? If you desire it so, seek it...

The industry is a bitch, things like this happen for a reason. While i'm sure putting it on the 360 would indeed rake in some sales; would it really be worth it?

It would cost alot to run a development team to port the game. Then there's marketing, and manufacturing costs....

if sales didn't make up for what it cost to achieve - then it's not worth it.

By this stupid ass logic people have about 'xbox deserves it' then surely Xbox's AAA titles should be multiplatform no?

I guess I got caught during a short tempered moment...but I for one am sick to death of hearing about this.

Even if MGS4 were to be ported; all we'd hear is mixed reviews of polar opposites; one side says it's the best game ever, the other half would say it was overhyped rubbish.

...and to be perfectly honest, it IS overhyped. MGS2 Substance on the Xbox was a shambles, what makes any of you think a repeat of this wouldn't occur? Would you rather play a halfassed port that watered down EVERYTHING that made the game great on it's original platform - and for it to be ridiculed for it...

or would you rather play it how it was designed.

You're all just a source of income..and regardless of it's quality; they're making money off of you. Downloadable content is also a pretty good success because of people like you. Wake the fuck up please.

Sony will have lost nothing considering the Xbox 360 version will be infinitely inferior to the PS3 version for the reason I mentioned.

No one wanted to play MSG2 on Xbox because it was a shitty port. Given Kojima's irritation at the 360 whiners, history is going to repeat itself if MGS4 does go on 360.
 
In all seriousness, as much as I like the 360, the fans really need to STFU and bite it. You don't have a PS3 so you don't get to play MGS4. It's not unfair, specially considering the exclusives they have on top of the amount of multi plat games that are SUPERIOR on their console due to lazy ass developers. It's as if the 360 fans don't think they have it good enough already. Pretty ridiculous.

currently, i would like to play MGS4

in my case of not owning a PS3, and having no current desire to purchase one, I conclude the following;

given the option of 1.) never ever ever playing MGS4 unless i buy a PS3 -or-
2.) playing a water'd down version on a system i currently own

i would rather play a crappy port then none at all.

i suppose thats what this is really all about. who cares what system it comes out for and if it sucks there compared to the original. you dont like the port, dont play it.

I really hope this starts to become a trend. I mean the 360 getting FF and Tekken? Thats just sick.
 
Ha sorry, I had just gone to the user CP and saw there was a new post. I'm not sure I agree with you about the port though. I want to experience the game. not just get an idea of what it is supposed to be. Maybe I'll just buy the game for a friend that has a PS3.
 
Aw crap my last post was a typo but i guess both systems having a game isn't that bad anyways. my last post was supposed to be " I really hope this DOESN'T become a trend"
