Might as well...

kyrt

whatever
Hello all.

I am Kyrt or Kyrtz as I am called on PSN. I just joined (today?) but I've been lurking for a number of months. So here I am...where to begin.

I suppose I've been a Soul Calibur fan since Soul Calibur II although III was out at the time I bought it. I also had played Soul Blade back in the day which is part of the reason I picked up II when I did...have a thing with playing things chronologically...even if there is no real plot in the games. I'm still a noob really and tend to get my ass handed to me whenever I try playing online. Still I enjoy fighting regardless.

I've mainly used Mitsurugi in all of the games but I have a few others I've become relatively decent with. My mains tend to be Mitsurugi and Raphael and I play Yoshimitsu, Lizardman, and sometimes Cassandra for casuals.

I got into Soul Calibur originally for fun and casual reasons and have since developed a 'fighting spirit'. I hope to go to tournaments for SCV and overall just hope to make the game a success for myself and others.

My other hobbies besides SC include Fallout, uncharted, reading, anime, RPG games, and visual novels.

I live in the States the south-western part.

I am 22 yrs old and am currently in college. I am male as well. My PSN ID is Kyrtz. Just be aware if you fight me I suck online. I've never really had anyone but computer opponents to fight and my internet is extremely poor. I mainly fight with people I know.

will leave off there. I'll be sticking around and you will probably see me posting relatively often.

Hi Kyrtz! Welcome to the community! I am glad you've chosen to introduce yourself. This section hasn't had one for almost a couple weeks! I am one of the moderators here and my job is to make you feel welcome, and help you around this site. I also play on PSN and I am surprised I haven't came across you before. Where are you from?

Have you checked out the Soul Arenas? They are a wealth of character knowledge and data comprised by regular people just like yourself! You should check it out and you may learn some things that will help boost your skill level in no time. Here are links to the characters soul arenas that you've listed:

Mitsurugi, Lizardman, Yoshimitsu, Raphael, and Cassandra

I would suggest only learning one character at a time though. To really break through to the next level, you have to know the ins and outs of at least one character. By this I mean not just knowing all of their moves, but being able to apply them in the situations they were designed for. You have to become consistently aware of what your opponents character is capable of in certain situations and have a good strong plan on how to handle it. Really maximize their damage potential by learning their strongest punishes and moves that have specific evasion properties to maintain your advantage when you don't really have any.

You should also check out the Online section here. It's practically another community within 8wr. You can meet lots of people and always get good games with them without all of the lag abuse you can run into by playing random people. They are also very helpful people as well. Check it out! Online mode PSN/XBOX

Do you have any questions about anything at all? Like perhaps what all these notations for characters moves stand for? (ex. 2KB, 3B) If so, don't hesitate to ask. We have alot of information around here you can use for reference, and also people just waiting to help someone in need. Just post your questions in here, or you can send me a PM and I'll be glad to help you out. I hope you enjoy your stay here. have fun!

You are the very best kind of fighter then. I wish you luck coming into Soul Calibur V. As for getting your ass handed to you, I'm sure some of the folks here can help you with that.

You should fit in just fine around here. I have a particular fondness for Fallout myself.
