Move Spamming in Online Play

and i'm pretty sure 3 means 3, 2 means , 2 and 1 means 1 If you play on a 3 bar connection and you can still move around fairly decent well you have the miracle connection... and congrats...

Nah, plenty of people say that 3 bars might be unplayable (like half of a second lag...) or very playable, feels like 5 bars. (Edit : I mean that it varies, even for the same person. It depends on who that person is playing with.)

Today I had 4 bars with one person and it was unplayable, while sometimes 3 bars is playable. It's a nice indicator, but not failproof.

Right, how do u observe your Network signal, to see how much bars u have?

You don't "observe" your network signal, since the latency depends on many factors, most importantly distance, so you could have 4 bars with me, I can have 4 bars with some other guy and you could just have 3 bars with him.

When you are searching for a game or creating, besides the name of the player or the level and match settings, you will see coloured bars and a number. That's what you are looking for.

It's kinda funny how I get 4-5 bars with Black Dragon, 5 bars with an Italian guy but only 4 bars against my real life friend that lives 3.5 kilometers away.

FALSE.

Engineerfag here.

The bars only measure latency, not packet loss. Both are unrelated, but inevitable failings of TCP/IPv4. You can have low latency (5 bars) and still get packet loss.

To get true 60 FPS gameplay, you would need zero packet loss and <16.67 ping. Constantly. The interbutts in America simply aren't that good.

tl;dr: Online is trash.

This isn't 4chan.

As a rule I don't play people with a mic on. For annoyance reasons mostly, but I have yet to have a decent connection with someone that has a mic.

The range of things that I hear out of them is a whole other rant, and it is simply not worth it.
