My online experience

I play for an hour, lose every match. Lose every round. Fight someone with an E5 rank, and lose miserably. Rage quit.

I keep playing with the hopes of actually winning at least 25% of my matches, maybe 50% if I get lucky. But no matter what I do, no matter how much I play or learn moves in Training mode, I just will not get better. I'm about ready to say fuck this game and I just suck at all fighting games.

My ratio is around 5%, and my favorite characters are Sigfried, Zwei, and Raphael. What do?

Learn how to play the game. One hour of experience is not enough to be winning matches to be honest. You should be in training mode, not online vs at this point really. Finding a sparring partner also helps. Go here.

Yeah, what Synraii said. You have a lot of people who have been playing the Soul Calibur series for a while that know the game like the back of their hands.

Also, it has been out for over a month now. You can't expect to just hop in and be able to win without any skill. This isn't Mario Party.

Quick Battle. Start with the E5 cpus and work your way up to the A1-4. The A-ranks might annoy you a bit, but when you start holding your own against them you'll definitely be able to score some wins in the Colosseo / Ranked.

Legendary Souls. It Will break you, but you'll come out stronger. =) That is to say if you're able to overcome the cheap-ass s*** the computer pulls off you should be able to handle real people. Hopefully. Also is it just me or should this be in Multi?
