My SCV Original CAS

You see, I'm passing through a very hard time and I'm really sad about it.

I just really don't think that I can improve and become a great CaS maker like my master Vilarcane, or the many others I've seen around here like rdmunhoz, Quinion, Norik, Gatsu, Chobek and others.

Sorry.

I just really don't think that I can improve and become a great CaS maker
Firstly, if you're just fishing for attention and compliments, then maybe you really should get your thread deleted. Arrogance puts people off from giving honest feedback, if any feedback at all. However, I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt and believe that you're being genuine.

If you want to stop making CaS, that doesn't necessitate deleting pictures of the ones you've already made. They're not going to get in the way of what you want to do from here and they don't offend anyone.

More importantly, you're taking CaS too seriously. It's just part of a video game. This subforum isn't some kind of league, where you have to be the best of the best in order to stay in. Yes, people here can be very critical and we have our competitions, but we do what we do so that everyone can make better CaS, not to find out who's the best. You just need to be willing to learn and participate in conversation. You've been doing great at that thus far.

Look at the names you've mentioned. Do you think they were always as good as they were now? They may have been very skilled initially from their first posts, but all of them are much more skilled today than when they started a year or more ago. You, on the other hand, have only been here for about two and a half weeks, definitely not enough time to build a decent portfolio. You're selling your potential short.

I don't know what your personal situation is and whether or not your dissatisfaction with CaS is giving you a hard time or something else is depressing you and, in turn, making you feel bad about your work. Either way, if you feel you really need to, take a break, then come back and decide whether or not you really want to stop.

My objective never was compliments and attention. I don't lie and say that these are bad either. The reason I want to be better than I'm now is because I really like doing CaS and I take the persons I mentioned and others as my aim.

But I see what you want to tell me. As I said, something is really putting me down, but perhaps doing CaS is the way out of that depression. I'll continue working to become better. Thank you very much for the attention.

Seems to me like you have a lot more on your mind than the bonus mode of a fighting game. Take Pascuzzi's advice, clear up your head and then if you still want to do CaS, then by all means, please do! He's right; this isn't a competition. What it is is a very talented group of creators who come here for the fun, not for the glory. And I have never seen anyone, from Gatsu to Vil to Chobek and everyone in between, refuse to reveal a few trade secrets or help out if their assistance is requested.
Relax, being the new kid on the block isn't so bad. Specially if you've got us for a 'hood :)

Wow. I guess it's impossible to communicate sarcasm via the Internet. :/
Sarcasm + Internet? You play with forces beyond your comprehension, mortal... XD

You just need more confidence in improving with what you got. That's all you're lacking. No one can master any task without some trial and error with a purpose. Sure some people in these CAS forums are overshadowed by CAS savants, but that does not mean they should let themselves be intimidated.

If you want that glory to be referred to as someone great, you must build that confidence to be as good as everyone else and then some. See I may not be as good as some CAS artists on some things, but my competitive yet magnanimous drive is what kept me going. It makes me work hard to get the attention I deserve.

Throwing in the towel doesn't help anyone, comrade. All it does is show weakness. However, you're not the first to think that way. At one point I wanted to do that, but realized 8wayrun is sort of like a friend that will be there when you need help. I became CAS mod because people trusted me and they know no matter how many weeks I may be inactive, I pride myself on keeping the CAS activity alive.

Just worry about getting good at your own pace and eventually you will be known. =)

Thank you all guys, it's really nice to receive your support. Now I guess the talk is over. Here are some CaS. Hope you like it.

I love those !
You are either a fast learner or a hard worker but what i see here is very solid.
Gradients n sticker work / nice pattterns to addd depth / adequate colors and subtle use of ExEq...only the first one is truly original to my CAS-weary eyes but all 3 convey their theme with enough maestro to undoubtedly shine ingame...

Haha, so you can speak portuguese and knows samba, this is just great!

They're not really to my taste but I see some improvement. I particularly like the elf warrior because of the play on colors. Keep at it.
