you looked solid overall, gotta get familiar with your punishment in this matchup. stop punishing ducked highs with throws. use 6A+B4 PO A:6 instead. you did well in punishing A+B and most of his stance transitions. know that 66B really messes up NSS unless they know that bA will beat it. then it becomes a guess of whether you block punish the bA or beat every other option with 66B.

Thanks for the feedback kAb. I've been lurking around trying to absorb more about Natsu as possible, I've several matches more if they're ok to post.

I find trouble with NM's 1A ~ GS A, I can punish most GS transitions quite nicely with 66B or A:6 but this particular one gets me often. I'm pretty sure I can get WS AA in there, but there may be something better to use there.

I'm fairly new around but I'd want to see what I can do to improve with Natsu. I seem to have trouble with Nightmare. Here's one of the matches I had with our local Nightmare player.

Nice last round combo. Most of your mistakes were probly just because you have trouble with Nightmare, although I think Natsu and NM match up well together. Oh well I can't talk I get beat senseless by any Viola.
You would work on PO A:6 timing, I need to, too. It's a tricky but seriously important move.
I feel like you took turns of playing a safe-punish game, and a quick-paced-pressure based one. I don't know I don't have any evidence but your playstyle just seems a bit odd to me for whatever reason.
Also, when you land 2A+B why not CE and 4~66~8B+G?

I'm pretty bad with the timing on PO A:6, but I'm getting to it. I can prolly drop more of the videos later so you could try to pin-point how I really play, though I think I'm trying to see how he'll react to certain things or I'm blanking out.

The 2A+B launch? I was aiming for CE, I kinda did a bad input there since I just got a new stick and it's very different from the one I used before.

Are you on XBL?

For a PS3, you can pretty much just take one of your recorded matches, save them from your recent Battle Logs then save/convert them in-game into the PS3 hard-drive where you can grab them off via USB drive.

ok. Ok. U win. I shared this with one other person and told them to post it but he didn't.
Anywho if u land the PO A:6 jf in a combo , U can use 2A afterwards for a 66B BE/Throw mixup..... Have fun with this one.. Cuz i sure do.

lol it's ok I know you didn't mean anything bad by this but yes, I did post that find in the "All Interesting New Finds Go Here" thread and propped you lol

I still use it and love it.

When you've commit more mistakes than allowable, you know you're being toyed around when they predict you jumping the low to catch you with NM's 1[a]K.

I'm honestly pretty bummed out that day, like everyone else the guy fought. *I am never playing on someone else's custom arcade stick again*

Does Natsu have any reliable punish for NM's 11_77? I can pretty much shut down all options NM has at close range with 2A. But at a range, I try to go for WS AA or 66B I seem to get caught with NSS bA or NSS A+B.

Same thing for blocking NM's 1A, I try going for WS K and it gets GI'd as he goes into GS A ( I should prolly just stick to WS AA at that point ), and my bad overall whiff punishment should be addressed.

Any feedback, harsh or whatever is greatly appreciated.

1 thing that will seriously change the way this NM has to play, is if you just blockpunish his aGI attack consistently with A:6. (Y U NO USE A:6 D':) Could've punished more stuff on block, but don't know their name or notations >.>
For this particular NM, you could probably consistently have landed iWS K's left and right cause he was spamming shit like his life depended on it. He dictated the pace of the match cause you let him. Some PO mixups (perhaps with 6A+B4 [punishes]?) would probably make it harder on that NM as well.
And I see you cancelling a lot of throws, which is actually good.... but I think you're too obsessed with cancelling them xD. Duck and punish that shit some more! (A:6, 4B, 1A_44KK)
Great use of 66K most of the time though and I've seen some nice interrupts here and there and you don't seem to fall for his frame traps, unlike me >.>

Thanks for the input. I generally still have my doubts doing A:6 in matches. I seem to be able to throw them out perfectly during practice matches.

I prolly get intimidated as most Nightmares get scared when I run my game against them.

I get what you mean by my obsession of not ducking grabs and teching them instead, prolly bad experiencing of getting launched into NM's GS B GSB GS K BE w! 4KK 3B 2A+B string which he can easily do mid screen on this stage.

I'm trying to get my A:6 together, which will not be shown in the next vid since I dropped all of them. Heck, I was too afraid to try A:6 that I didn't go for CH 88_22A A:6 twice to win myself easy ROs.

How do I swing with Raph? General stuff against his preparation stance and what not?

You never throw out BBKA's or BK- or b moves in general. I don't think I saw even one 4A. What else...You can do better with wake-up. It feels kinda like you just stood there and waited for him. Apply pressure with 4A+B and PO mixups. 1+2K are good pokes if you feel like your AA will just get blocked (So you don't feel like you have to do a 6 afterwards)
Hmm...You whiffed at weird moments that seemed like you just could've...not. lol
You play almost like you're shy. Iunno how else to word it. You're a motherfucking Natsu! Not a Phyrra!

Good playing though. Oh and also a 66B never hurts either!

!.... I-i-i'm not shy! o////o

I've been generally trying to 2A+B since he likes waking up into it! I agree that I prolly should do better with wake up, prolly throw more 4A+B (I like 1B though if they like playing possum) like you said.

I like AA6 in general. Makes them think that I'd go for it next time and leave them for open for AAB, or after I go into AA6, they usually try to duck and gets me a nice 66B. Poking with 1K and 2K is noted for when AA feels like being blocked. And 4A or side throws when 22_88A feels like it's being predicted.

I haven't really found use for BBKA for people who don't like ducking when I want (or expect) them to, any inputs? BK into POS though would've whiffed if Raph backstepped right? Or I'm not too sure.

I guess by moves not being used in there, I prolly could've benefit from 8KA.

Thanks for the inputs.
Though I don't know alot about the Raph matchup, I feel like A+B is my best tool for catching Raphs who likes to backdash-limbo-poke to hell.

The biggest thing about Raph is just knowing when to sidestep
Also to not freeze up against his shadow step (if that's what it's called). The biggest thing raph has is reach and many many many safe pokes, so overall I'd say he's a safe char, but if he makes a mistake it's easy to make him pay for it.

Firstly I'd like to apologise for the terrible quality. This was recorded with a cam x3

(open with you tube and turn the qaulity up so you can actually see, wow I didn;t realise it would look this terrible)

Secondly, thanks for all your Natsu combo videos everyone! I'v learnt a lot and I'v been trying all these techniques on-line. So yeah this is just a video of some of the new stuff I'v learn't.

I'm a really un-safe player, as you can tell :P I don't know much about defence or safe moves.

You might be like, wow what a newby. Idk, but if you want some close high rank games imo, just comment and I'll try to upload it right from my xbox with good qaulity.

just wanted to say that if its the last bit of health and you have them in a 3KKK stun combo near the wall, go for the 1A to finish off instead of the 44KKK. the 44KKK is not guaranteed and i'd feel like shit if they made a comeback on me for letting them live by not using guaranteed 1A.
