About me: Hi there 8WayRun, my name is Eoin, I'm 22 and come from Ireland. Im a huge fan of fighting games, and have been playing the Soul Caliburs since SC2, though my interest had declined during SC4. However, with SC5's release, I've found myself enjoying the battle with souls and swords once again.Other fighting games I play include Tekken, Street Fighter, BlazBlue (which unfortunately is on my now unused Xbox) and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3.

Since getting Soul Calibur 5, I've probably spent more time in the character creation screen than any other (though grinding to lvl45ish through repeated Arcade modes would also be a contender) and have yet to find a style that works for me (Soul of Pyrrha or Soul of Aeon is quite nice, as is Soul of Devil Jin).

Right now, not sure if I really want to get competitive, I tend to play fighting games for fun (though it annoys me to no end to see people online who use cookie cutter characters because that's what the pros use, especially in UMvC3). So, if I'm online on the PSN, throw me a battle invite and we can cross swords, or whatever we'd fight with.

That's about it I think. I'll probably lurk around for a while, and when I get my hands on a camera will post pictures of the characters I have created / will create and see what others think of them (My rainbow army is a bit odd, I'll admit xD)

Thanks,
Stormwrench

Welcome to 8WayRun!!
Glad to have you with us.
Long time fans of soul calibur are especially appreciated here.

It's perfectly fine not to be competitive, as long as you're having tons of fun and making friends.
Can't wait to see your creations in the Casual Forums. I'm concerned about that rainbow army though....-_-

Since you're from Ireland, could you recommend me a good brand of Irish beer?
^_^

Have to ask, is there any specific places I can go here to find areas to face people online, or am I limited to friending people over PSN?

Yeah... I'm probably not even gonna keep the lot of them. Only made some of them because friends I RP with asked me to make an army of rainbow soldiers (after making a red, a blue and a silver), so once I take pictures of them, am likely gonna delete the ones I dont like ^^;

As for the drink, sorry, I don't drink myself so I don't really care much to knowing beer brands :P

What?!
An Irishman who doesn't drink?
Are you a Unicorn?
:P

On finding people, you should check out this thread

Also try out the new feature Global Colloseo inside the game, it tells you players close to your area.

Nah :P

Also, have tried that before. Managed to get only one good fight, as all the others I faced were Ragequitters (I'd beat them two rounds in a row and they'd suddenly lose connection)

My only advice would be to keep trying. Find some nice people and play with them regularly. Though I have found that the crowds on the PSN and XBL are different. There tends to be more scum on PSN. I guess that 5 dollars a month is actually a barrier to some of them but there are still some good people too, any 8way runners you meet will tend to be upstanding folks.

Create a souls btw are eagerly viewed over here:
