So as the title says im new to Soul Calibur. I have been playing a lot with my buddy but don't see a big change in the way I do things. I was wondering if there are any tips you veterans could lend me. Also i have been wondering what characters are best for newcomers?

Best thing to do is play with a character you enjoy.

But still I reconmend Xiba, Pyrrha and Mitsurugi.

Edit: Kilik, Cassandra and Mitsu then...

Really? Hmm I gotta learn stuff with him then because i kind of suck with him right now I only know a little moves with him but not much that will keep me alive long enough.

I'm sure you'll get the hang of him when you use and practice with him often. Other than that no need to say you suck.
 
True guess i should stop saying i suck at something when really all i need is practice. Okay time to train with Mitsu.

Any tips for using him?
 
I haven't played SCIV Mitsu in a long time really. So I probably can't help you there except saying who is beginner friendly.
