New to Talim - favorite char so far

hello all, im a new talim player and I think ive found my favorite character in soul calibr. Ive been sitting on sieg for so long now I needed a change and Talim was always one of those characters I wanted to learn but felt she just had too much.

well i finally bit the bullet this weekend and started getting things down with her.. holy crap.. i seriously have to say she is probably the most fun character I've messed with. her playstyle flows with me very well. I look forward to learning her and adding moves / strings. now I just have to get some basics with her like mixups good punishes and such.

Its great that you have taken a liking to Talim and we're a friendly bunch of guys that are willing to help you with any questions.

Make sure you read the threads that have been stickied, as they provide the essential information about her gameplay, combos and mixups.

After you've understand how certain combos work, check out the Talim Video archive for video footage of her in action. One of the best ways to learn is to see how we have been using her to get up close to the opponent and apply pressure.
 
thank you for the info, at the moment Im getting comfortable with her stance changes and pokes as well as finding her ways to get in as you said.

lol at work today and its going to be slow.. so that = forum trolling. I was rocked last night by my friends voldo.. he seemed to have an answer for everything that I would do. Im trying hard not to fall into predictable patterns with her.

from the videos that ive watched so far, she seems to be being played more patient than i thought. good to know, I also just started using 4, b, b or , and 11k,a. i know i know, lol basics. I always try to add 2 moves a day into my play routine.

I only play online as my friends live out of town now, so i still have problems with her just frames online but I can get them in practice which is a little frustrating. and i keep accadentally jumping out of the ring after FC 3b,b, k, k, A+b, juggle. guess im getting too greedy with it sometimes trying to ring out.

well, im back to reading. thanks for all the information thats up guys. It helps ppl new to her get a leg up and not have to go through 6 months of trial and error to figure stuff out.

Im on a mission to make her competitive in our group (my friends say that she is junk) lol, i beg to differ and will show them soon.
 
My buddy Mike uses Talim as his 2nd character after Vader and he straight bulldogs with her. Talim is really fast and can be very confusing to fight against, IMO.
