[08] Mercenary
Hello 8wr My name is A-train and for the last 3 years I have been playing strictly streetfighter 4and I love it. I have never really been into 3d games just because I felt like 2d was more fun and easier to access. Recently I played SC2 with a friend and I had soo much fun that I thought I would give SCV a chance and now I am here to learn. I hope to be able to learn and possibly compete in the future.

Hi and welcome to 8WR! If you need tips or online practice partners, you'll find that there are plenty of people who are willing to help you out. Also, there are many resources here that you can utilize, such as frame data, combo lists, and an assortment of different guides on the site. If you need help on something specific, don't feel shy to ask. Which character(s) are you going to play or are interested in?

Hi there and welcome to 8wr and SCV if ya have XBL plz message or add me: MarKOed, I am always happy to help others get on their feet or if ya want just a good ol sparring match plz dont hesitate to ask! Hope to see ya online!

Psst: Pick Aeon. He's a giant lizard dragon man with dual wield axes that flies and breaths fire and DEVOURS THE FLESH OF HIS VICTIMS.

Plus he's top tier.

Welcome to the community. Of the characters you named, I'd start at Pyrrha, by the way. She's got a straightforward yet effective toolset, much more so than the other 3 you named. This isn't to say that Viola, Tira, or Leixia are bad characters, but rather that they have additional layers of complexity that could detract from you first grasping the basics of the game engine.

I'd suggest starting on Pyrrha for now, getting comfortable with the flow of Soul Calibur, and then branching out into new playstyles/characters from that point. Pyrrha offers a versatile move list, relatively low execution requirements, and doesn't force you to think about stance transitions and various associated options.

I was thinking of going pyrrha first too, and I am probably going to do that but I will mess around with Tira aswell because Im really liking how she plays from these matches im watching.

Yep, Tira is great, you just need to be really aware of when her stance changes might occur, and how to appropriately respond to maximize your damage. Playing her could be pretty good for your reflexes, in that regard.

They're both solid characters, but ultimately it's most important that you play who you like, because it's the fun factor that's going to keep you in this game.

Yep, Aeon is great, you just need to be really aware of how badass he is, and how to play without being blinded by his sheer awesomeness. Playing him could be pretty good for your reflexes, in that regard.

He's an above solid character, but ultimately it's most important that you play Aeon, because it's the Aeon that's going to keep you in this game.

lol compete. This game is almost dead, sorry to say that. Well, dead for europeans atleast, US still have a few odd scenes going.

Sorry I am late but welcome yo 8wr! If you need any help around feel free to contact me :) . Looks like you have got a good greeting already though :) Again, Welcome!

Although the conversion from SF to SC will be hard, it will be worth it in the end.

Welcome!
