Is there a mode where you can fight tougher opponents in SCIV? Or Online is the only option?

nothing really of interest... I'm finding one like SCV's Quick Battle.

Ya quick battle is good... I think A5 imprinted in gold are opponents who are most challenging.
Also online isn't as bad as it was in SC4. SC5's netcode is much improved of course if your connection is good then online would be my secondary training option to offline.

Wait I'm talking about SCIV.. is there a mode in IV that is similar to V's quick battle?

sorry my bad... if you have PSP version your best bet is Quick Battle against random CPUs. The ones with the most wins and fewer loses are pretty challenging.
If on console as Solo posted there's really no other option.
