It wouldn't be uber cheap if they put cass or sophie in SC5. If you know how they work, there not cheap characters.

Although, I am getting some ideas that sophie is still alive, but inside of soul edge....

no im not saying Soph and Cass are cheap im saying that adding 4 characters that have moves based on each other would be 2 wasted roster spots.
i like Soph and Cass but i'd much rather 2 unique characters instead.

and sure i'll entertain the idea that Soph is undead like Cervantes (even though i doubt it) i just hope she doesnt have the same moveset.
either way i just hope they dont add Soph or Cass period.

also what about the original Nightmare, theyre gonna bring back the azure knight im sure. now the roster's gonna have a 2nd Nightmare character hosting Soul Edge?

I agree, it seems that way. I get the wierd feeling that she maybe in that same situation of being undead like cervantes.
 
I can't wait to have a look at Patroclus! He looks so cool but I also can't wait to edit him :)

Also, they have the names written as "Patroklos, Pyrrha" rather than the typical "PATROKLOS, PYRRHA". That's interesting.

I doubt that's an old video since that stage is there, plus they're using his 2P, while other videos we've seen so far only have his 1P, and that stage wasn't revealed when he was first announced. From the looks of that odd text on the side, they're probably testing out his 2P model.
 
Yes his name has been fixed in the Gamescon gameplay the lifebar and the character select screen both display Patroklos. The original name Sophitia gave his son. YAY I didn't really want Patroclus, because Patroklos was what Sophitia named him not Patroclus.

LMAO, I don't think it's much of a retcon but more of a possible translation error (See: Cassandra/Kathandra), what with the whole English/Greek/Japanese romanization and such, and modern Greek literations concerning the use of K/C and O/U over the years.

But yeah, I'd much prefer Patroklos.

I know that, there have been a lot of mis translations throughout the Soul Calibur games, or even mutations of names. Like Seong-Mina and Seung-Mina, and in SE the announcer pronounced "Sophitia" like "Sofetia" or something like that. I still prefer Patroklos too, Patroclus is too conventional.
 
They can keep Patroklos but first they have to learn how to pronounce the name...
"Sofetia" instead of "Sophita" doesn't really surprise me as I've heard calling her that way in a couple of recent vids...
The whole Greek family names were messed up in SE.
They still don't know how to pronounce Siegfried.
Hilde messed up with his surname and we still call her the German Princess.
Mina and Yunseong are another story.

But we've got to think that this game is made by japanese people who have a language that is completely different from ours, so they can make some mistakes...

But when it comes to the tranlation of the game, something that I think doesn't happen by the Japanese section of Namco, well, they should double check before finishing it...

Do you remember SC3? Full of errors I know. Even that part was a rushed job lol.

But going back to the topic, I guess we've got to change Pat's sections (again) into Patroklos, as I think that will be his last name change... Well, the mods can do that.

I totally understand this. You can actually look up old Soul Blade videos and hear "so-phi-TI-a", then in SCIV you can hear Cassandra say "so-PHI-ti-a".

Lol yeah... First time I heard Sophitia in SB, I Rofled. Honestly, it reminded me so much of Prophecy (The greek word though and please don't ask me why, I'm random). So I called her Pro-phi-TIA for a while...
