post GI options

so lets talk some post GI options.

i feel that GI is a very important part of liz's game for a few reasons.

1. he has some really great options to make your opponent think about re-GI or not as well as some good moves to set up GI.

2. he already has a decent CF game and adding GIs to it can only help.

3. after people get used to 1K and LC options (which most of mine have) i feel post GI is a great way to supplement lost damage from those areas.

first off.... 3B

this move is i20 which fits nicely at the upper border of stuff that needs to be re-GI'd. it nets you 70ish damage which is amazing and is surely a reason to start re-GIing.

i dont think i even need to go into the multitude of slower moves you can throw to net massive damage once they start re-GIing. A+B, 11B, 33B, 44[A]B, pick your poison.

thing is he has scenario's like this for almost every instance

close back to edge RO...... 66K->1K (or a couple other safer options)

farther back to edge RO...... 33A->9A/22B/44B into 4B+KG

back to wall..... 66K/3B into wall combo->9A into back throw

if you just want mad frame advantage he has 3K, AA, and 6A which all net you +6 and need to be re-GI'd

even tossing out some CF bait post GI is great. 9B breaks in 11 and they only have 3 frames to step. other options are great but are a bit slow and are more likely to be evaded.

the one problem i see is lack of a quick damaging low that would need to be re-GI'd. with that, we would have a ridiculous mindgame in our favor, but eh cant have it all.

I'm surprised that you didn't mention GI into a throw, for if you would rather make it a throw mixup rather than a re-GI/block mixup for the opponent, (unless they re-JI of course). I think throwing after a GI is great if you want to give yourself a good shot at a chunk of damage.

If their back is to the edge, B+K post-GI is also a great tool. If they attempt to re-GI you get a free CH 2BK_66K for a RO after landing the B+K, and if they they don't, it's +3 on block and forces crouch, so you are in a great position to frametrap them with CH 2BK. Throw 1K_66K into the mix it will put a lot of pressure on them to not get RO'd after blocking B+K.

Nothing is guaranteed after B+K on hit. 2B,K used to be my staple after CH 66A or B+K but now all of my friends shake it pretty consistently.

Unless it has different properties after a whiffed GI that I don't know about...

Rico, the stun after the B+K will only recover after 17 frames if you shake out of it. So all mids that are i17 or faster would connect. Unfortunately B+K will push the opponent back too far for anything to be guaranteed, except for 1B.

But if there is a ring edge behind them it will keep them close to you, allowing for moves like 66K and 2BK to be guaranteed as well.

Interesting...

I guess the reason I never noticed it is because 2B,K would whiff unless, like you said, their back is to and edge/wall.

I will make a mental note of this.

people should look into 33A as well. found some interesting things with this move. definately need to start using it more.
