Despite your efforts to make them so, neither of these has the same spirit of the Romney pics. Which is to say that they are not concerned with "fun" or light hearted parody as much as small minded and (il)legitimate attempts at fear mongering.

If we were putting together a double feature our entry would be "The Hebrew Hammer" and yours would be some muttering nutball's shoddy, suspect documentary on the "Zionist Agenda". In short gentlemen, you have fucked up.

Is something like:

Or maybe:

The fact that you can't find light spirited barbs however, and only ugly and hate filled propaganda might say a thing or two about the sentiments of the people in either camp. But I will leave such ponderings off the table for the moment and say, try again. Ridicule is fine, hate is not. Keep it fun.

I'd just like to say, even though I'm young I do have my own opinion on politics. I believe that whether Obama was re-elected or Romney elected, America will eventually be consumed by its own dept and plummet down the fiscal cliff and we will all be slaves to China, working impossible hours every day and be segregated as inferior beings.

I love how people can still ridicule Romney and no one says anything about it. The guy lost, I get it. However if Obama hadn't been re-elected, any sort of joke or remark about him would be considered insensitive or offensive. People are morons.

That's because you can make fun of white people without being penalized. But all of the sudden when the target of banter and ridicule is a black person, it's immediately cruel, racist, and wrong. As a Hispanic-African American, I find it terrible that the term 'racist' is still being used. It's been a long time since the civil war. People need to move on and be equal to all races. Society is really messed up these days.

People are morons.

I love how you're calling me a moron in the most passive aggressive manner possible without yourself understanding what I was getting at. There is a difference between this:

and this:

Stare at them for a minute and see if it dawns on you.

...

Let me make this clearer for you. If people were posting similarly hilarious Romney images the thread would have looked like this:
mitt-romney-bad-mormon-or-bad-religion.jpg

WOAH GUYS! GOOD QUESTION HUH?

Or maybe like this:
tumblr_mctipadF6n1ryp54co1_500.jpg

Maybe there's some humor to the image, but it's coming from an ugly place. You could say every image here is politically charged but there's a difference that should be apparent to anyone when the focus shifts from getting a laugh to making an attack. I'd rather we didn't open the door to attacks or the thread would go no place good.

Is this funny?

Maybe. About as funny as your image. Particularly in that the "joke" is hiding a message for the wrong kind of people. When I saw your image I figured it doesn't look like it's meant as a joke to somebody. The claim is ridiculous, but I've seen enough people make it that it comes acrosss to me just as an angry image, not a funny one and thanks to the magic of Internet miscommunication I didn't know how you meant it. Before you get all huffy though and get off into another rant about how you can't make fun of the president because he's black get your head out of your ass and realize it's not about that. I don't think you're a racist or any such thing. I thought used as jokes those pics just fail and might start a flame war. Then again I am an asshole and I could have just looked the other way. I get that you were making fun of people that think that sort of thing, it's just that with Wombat's presence I am on high alert for cross aisle vindictiveness.

Hey kid, first off you do realize I never used the word "racist" right? You only assumed (at length) that that was the issue. Maybe it'll make you happy to know the discussion had nothing to do with zoom's right to make fun of a black president. You do realize as well that not all racism is directed between whites and blacks nor all racists Americans correct? So why bring the civil war into it? Human beings have a lot more growing to do, sadly, and when you look at regions like subsaharan Africa or the middle east America is way ahead of the curve.

LMAO. I'm sorry officer. Didn't realize the sheriff was in town.

But seriously, it looks like you can't post anything in here that's negative toward Obama. My first attempt at posting some actually funny pictures was met with screams of "you're racist!" and LP telling me he wanted to kick my ass because of a picture. on the internet. And now that I post something that's not a frigg'n lolcat macro, it's met with "you're fearmongering!"

I haven't seen such sore winners since... the last time I played TTT2.

IDK if ninjaguy was in here when the perfect storm of butthurt was raging over my first (troll) post, but maybe he's referring to that. But getting off the subject of the images, which, TBH, I don't really give a crap about, and at the risk of derailing the thread again (omg, no not that lol), let me say that I find it... IDK, not disturbing or super seriously messed up, but at least super-annoying that when I read his post, I was like, OMG, I can't believe he's saying this! Brace for shitstorm! up until the point where he said, "As a Hispanic-African American" and then a wave of calmness came and I felt like Oh, well it's okay then.

I agree with him that there's something messed up about our society when that kind of feeling is indoctrinated in us so hard that even I feel it. If I, as an Austro-Hungarian American, made the exact post that he did, there'd probably be a half dozen people in here screaming that I'm racist and OMG, how could you say that, just because I don't have the "can't-be-a-racist-cuz-I'm-black" credentials that he does. The highest card that I can play is the "I-married-a-minority" one, but that's not high enough to win the hand. LOL w/e.

Anyway, if the outcome of the election had been the opposite, I venture to say that you would be seeing a lot of those "scary-funny pictures" that you posted about Romney. TBH, I've felt pretty chill over the whole election thing. Probably because I was expecting Obama to win anyway. But if you want to police this thread, feel free, I'll leave.

Distinction between fun and mean spiritedness.
Wombat already posted he's just here to troll and derail this thread. So, not only are his posts petty and mean spirited but the intent behind the posts. (Edit: But he seems to thoroughly enjoy the role he's filled so I can't discount him for having fun.)

I think the dichotomy you've pointed out is very real. Socialism is evil, free markets are the blood of Jesus and guns don't kill people abortions do. Oh, and gays getting married is causing hurricanes and probably global warming. Don't listen to the smart people, just listen to the loud ones or be damned.

The main issue I had with Romney was his ties to Wall Street. People are still suffering from Wall Street shenanigans while those who engaged in the shenanigans got bonuses. I didn't want Wall Street to continue feeling like they own the free world. Romney just seemed like their proxy.

Dude, I wasn't talking to you. You're obviously seriously buttsore over something I wasn't even directing towards you. Yes, I'm aware you didn't say racist. Which is why my statements weren't directed towards you. Yeah, I also realize not all racism isn't only between black and whites but Romney is white. Obama is black. Common sense; I was using their races as an example. Why bring the civil war into it? One, I'm not sure if you've realized but it's already been brought up. And two, because I can and did. The civil war ended slavery and would've helped us more if it also ended racism but obviously it didn't.

@Wombat I wasn't originally there for the shitstorm, but I did read it all. Pretty entertaining. I was just speculating at how if the elections had been turned and Romney won it would be different like Zoom said.

Also, Ghengis, don't call me kid. Don't you dare write me off as a dumb little 'kid'.

I just don't like being called a kid. T^T I feel like (especially online) whenever someone calls someone else a kid it's usually meant as an insult.
