'Reversal' Critical Edge after guarding viable?

Okay, this is a simple idea that undoubtedly crossed others' minds before me, but how viable a punishment is using a critical edge after guarding an attack? What I mean is, when guarding, you can buffer 236236+ABK and have it come out as soon as you stop guarding. Might come out fast enough to be viable in certain situations.
Obviously, we need to look at every attack's frame data to reach a conclusion.

Or maybe it's not viable because there will be better options at hand?

Mentioned because this new Super Meter in a 3-D fighter adds this mechanic.

It depends really, with chars like Alpha Pat who's CE is i8 you can use it to punish a lot of moves, the Pyrrah's CE's are also good as whiff punishment. Again though it really depends on the situation your in, I use PO's Meter mostly for CE punishment. Sometimes throwing out a CE after a blocked move also catches people off, such as an AA or BB (Damps works wonders after them) since the opponent will usually retaliate after your blocked attack, depending on their playstyle though they may just step so again, it depends.

Hope this helps.

Entirely viable. Some characters MUST punish moves with CE and they can't do anything else about the attack, they NEED METER to hit back.

For example, Natsu vs. Patroklos. Natsu does AAB, which is -14 + pushback. Patroklos has a i14 punisher from standing in BB, but it doesn't reach. However, his CE is i13 and has bigger range than his BB. Thus, he can punish Natsu's AAB with CE.

When he does not have the meter for CE, Natsu can spam AAB on him all day for free.
