Alright. After a very frustrating experiance attempting to post my CAS last time, I'm ready to give it amother try. I'll use this post for my originals, and follow up with my recreations and others.
This first CAS is my favorite. In fact, she is the only CAS I give enough of a damn about to create a backstory for (that's not to say I love my other CAS's any less.... well some at least). It's a very very wordy (and historically fitting) backstory. For the sake of efficiency and time saving I will not post it now (although if anyone is interested enough to request it, I will oblige). Her discipline is that of my main, which is Tira.

I really wanted a main who could be feasibly courrupable. So I created a soul edge possesed variant

I know that cyclops is technically not a soul edge weapon, but I'm not overly fond of most "soul edge" styles

I used the pattern/color all sheen trick for the armor' So subtle, yet so effective


This next CAS was my first. I had a really great egyptian CAS in SC4 utilizing the bast vizard and Talims 2p bottoms. this is a very close approximation that I really like

This one is not to my liking as much as I want. I attempted to make a fox girl shrine maiden. I'm sorry to get on my soap box on this one, but Namcos decision to eliminate the red channel for the ubdergarments is asinine and has unintended consiquences. I realize that they wanted to prevent perverts from creating "nude" CAS's, but because of that I have to sacrifice authenticity and settle for a dark magenta. Censorship is censorship, and punishes people with good intentions too. Se la vie. Sorry, now that my tiraid is over here...

This one was based on a pen and ink drawing I did over a decade ago. While I didn't get an exact copy, I got within a stones throw of my original design.

this was my attemt at the fairy CAS challange. somewhere in the creative process she turned into a kind of nature spirit. Although folklorically that qualifies her as creature of fey, she's not that sterotypical image of a faery

O.K. I'll go ahead and post my recreations beacuse it is a short list. You see, I don't really like to do recreations unless I know it's somthing that no one else has posted before (or at the very least, something I haven't seen before).

I'll start with a CAS that makes me look like a hypocate. I've seen this CAS before, and on this very forum. I have, however, used the anime palette of pink/yellow/black, rather than the manga and T.V. palette of red/cream/navy.

Next is a Samurai Showdown CAS I haven't seen on a forum before (that's not to say it's not out there somewhere). I think that there may be a better way to do it , but so far, thas is what I have...

My next is based on the silent film "Metropolis". It's really more of an "inspired by" CAS, as it is not particularly accurate. She is unsettling though. I had to replace her eyes with eye stickers. On top of not tracking, they're really disturbing.... I'll inslude a close up,

Cats are cute and so are these CAS of it utilizing the headpiece. The mecha maria is also very intriguing. Some ideas came to mind for Pocky Yoshi of thine CAS. Do keep on sharing.
 
So this post follows a "people in your neighborhood"/ "celebrity"/ "real people" theme. My first CAS is pretty self explanitory

My next is also pretty self explanitory... I used Tira's discipline because she essentially cuts herself

In my day we had "Goths" and that's the way I likes it!

This CAS is particularly dear to me simply because it took so much experimentation to get her right. Initally I flew by the seat of my pants fueled by what I knew about this particular fashion; experimenting with patterns and colors, but not quite getting it right. Finally I looked up photos online and everything fell into place

I had this next idea before I even got my copy of the game. My inspiriation was an altered Street Fighter 4 art piece I saw online. Of course, someone already beat me to the punch. I don't view it as a usurping of somone elses idea more than it is a "great minds" situation, I still think I did a reall good job though.

This next celebrity will probably not be very well known (depending on the circles you travel in) she hosts a comedy/cooking show on cooking channel called "Bitchin Kitchen"

Do you love cats, don't you? Devil cat is quite cute, and the first one looks fine too. I don't like Soul calibur version though.

Thanks. I like to keep things simple. I usually find myself thinking of silly CAS that seem like troll characters, but i'm not really trying to. I take inspiration from life. (^_^)
 
Alright, I have some new stuff. Most of them I'm pretty proud of. The first is directly related to my favorite (Kun-Chan). They share a common backstory (the one that's really wordy). I like how she turned out.

This next character was an attempt at making a universal, generic theif character that you might see in most fantasy games (MMO's or DND, that kind of game). She's so generic that I don't even have a name for her. I am open to suggestions.

I actually created this next CAS by altering an already existing character I created. He was originally a plauge doctor that didn't really look all that spectacular (too simple). I wanted to do a sort of "steam punk" version of a plauge doctor. Somewhere in the creative process, he turned into this.

Thank you! Angelica was an arduous ordeal. I spent the better part of 2 and a half hours just finding the right patterns and stickers and and tweaking the accessorys. But when it fell into place, it was magic
 
I have not looked at all of them yet, but you've got a great touch to creation and a lot of these look really solid and interesting. I do like Devil-kun. I also see you have paid attention to the tips & tricks threads ;)
 
I like Anastasia and Angelica.

I also like the Metropolis designed character but think something needs to be done about the eyes they look a little too weird in my opinion.

The egyptian character is interesting and I like the color scheme but I think a non-mummified version might even be better.

The rest are decent but those were the ones that stood out to me the most for whatever reasons.
 
Good point. I living version of Sekhmet might be fun, and good practice. I'm glad that people are liking Angelica. As I previously mentioned... making her was a bitch
 
I've really enjoyed sharing my CAS with everyone (especially considering that everyone has been so supportive), but I've had a little artists block lately (I'm still trying to take all of the tips and tricks into account and applying them appropriately to my characters). I psyched because I managed to create somthing that I have wanted to for a while; an old fashioned wind up toy key protuberance. It does not look good with all styles considering I had to line it up in a strange way... but ir fit perfectly with may bloody doll CAS

Thanks! I really like how she turned out. In order to get the right position on the wind up key I had to align everytthing to the right shoulder, so ebery time the right shouder moves, the key does too. I chose Pyrra Omega's style so that in neutral postition, the key is reletively stable and when she attacks, it doesen't move too erratically
 
I think Anastasia is my favorite and while I'm not a fan of angel-type characters, I do like Angelica.
I also like the Egyptian woman, though I agree that a living version would look better.
And the Vegan Hipster chick made me laugh. Mainly because she looks almost exactly like one of my friends. Even the arm-warmers lol.
However, most of the other ones are either too generic, over-the-top, or just too silly(lookin' at you, kun-chan).
