As an official game, we're looking forward to bringing Soul Calibur:

  • Pre-registration, on-time+structured pools

“Kumite is for the fighters, not the people who read newspapers.” – Frank W. Dux, Bloodsport

Despite the upgrades, we remain rooted in what we’ve always valued: a tournament. It's a kumite starring everyone, from traveled world warriors to local living room champions, all traveling to Ohio to witness and be a part of history and to show their competitor’s heart.

SB will never be about carnival gimmicks, pats on the back or photo opportunities for ourselves. Since 2006, we’ve simply strived to bring you the one of the world’s best arenas to square off against friends and rivals alike, alongside godlike special events and an unmatched atmosphere. And as long as you enjoy it, we’ll keep doing it. Now, prepare to FIGHT!

With Season’s Beatings through the years, we watched uncountable legendary moments transpire at our famous venue, Momo2. From our Undisputed Heavyweight Marvel vs. Capcom 2 showdowns, to the Daigo-in-Ohio invasions of 2009 and 2010, to last year’s creative and unprecedented Good vs. Evil Phoenix 5v5 at SB:Velocity, we (so many SB participants) have built a lifetime’s worth of memories at that beloved, unique venue.

Unfortunately, as of 2012, Godlike Entertainment must look to the future as Momo2 announced its closing as of August. Momo2 gave us an amazing six years; it was synonymous with our event.
But the heart of SB is YOU, the players who travel from around the world to experience the riotous, uberhype SB atmosphere, and the way we run our event will not change. We’ll miss our old home, but we look forward to bringing you the SB experience with upgraded surroundings:

  • 8,500 sq. feet of space
  • In-venue food and adult beverage lounge, open until 2 a.m.
  • Across the street from some of a major U.S. city’s most famous and hottest hangouts, offering award-winning sandwiches and hundreds of beers, even with on-request shuttle service to drive you back to your hotel.
  • Indoor pool, sauna
How much?
For competitors: $35 +additional cost per game, pre-registration/pre-payment only

FREE SEASON’S BEATINGS T-SHIRT AND SBa DOGTAG for pre-registering as a competitor! Why? Because SB is and will always be a tournament, featuring the world’s best and hungriest talent, and we want to and reward everyone for supporting us and the FGC, from Justin Wong to Johnny Donuts.

For spectators: $20 enables to watch tournament matches and play casuals. The shirt will not be available for purchase; man up, play your favorite game(s), be a part of SB history!

Many, many more details to come, regarding media, production, online content, and top guests in all games. We look forward to directly engaging YOU, the players spending hard-earned money to come to our event!

For now, post up or contact Chris or Harmon through email (askgodlike@gmail.com), PM, Facebook page, or Twitter (@gdlkEnt) with questions/feedback/advice. SRK PM is NOT the most efficient way to get ahold of us because of how quickly our inboxes fill!

Thank you for supporting Season's Beatings year after year and keeping it one of the world's largest -- and still grassroots -- Fighting-Game Community events.

Registration is live! Free shirt for pre-regging -- don't wait for day-of.

can we have a sticky for this? i can understand the mistrust with sb after sb3. i know what happened with sciv that year. i was right next to you guys trying to deal with what happened to gg after marn killed our entire community. this will not happen this year. the cleveland scene has boomed the past couple of years and we all have plenty of experience running tournaments (our local monthlies are pushing 100+ entrants with around 30 for scv). the tournament is gonna be run right with it being 3/5 the whole way and it will have plenty of stations available. i'll personally be handling brackets for this game because i love this game and want to see it do well at an ohio event.

this event will be a good time to show that scv actually DESERVES another year at evo. gotta show up to majors for that to happen though. luckily, this takes place a month after mlg/summer jam and there is nothing else planned around it so i hope to see plenty of guys here.

SB3 was 2008 -- we've learned from our mistakes, as last year SB:Velocity featured pools that all started on-time to the minute and finished early, and I say with confidence that SB is one of the best-run tournaments in the world. We wouldn't be one of the top events if we didn't learn and want to better for all our players who support us year after year. We hope the SC community supports.

I'm proud to say as well that with a huge venue, second stream and a bigger SB team, we're reaching out to ensure every official (and side) tournament is one of the best experiences in the FGC for each community. We've confirmed EVO champ MadKOF and are working with reps from Namco and Tecmo this year to garner official support from their games, not just Capcom titles.

And the main reason we are supporting SCV is because we have a passionate regional scene for it, in Cleveland and Michigan especially. SB takes care of its own and at the minimum we're going to provide the best event we can for them. I know people are coming just for SCV and we'll give them our best.

SCV confirmed for Friday night 3D stream.

can we have a sticky for this?.
I can't sticky events, but I'll make sure to cover it in Armory September .

Is anyone trying to split a room? I'll be arriving Friday afternoon. Who all is going to this, Ohio ? No slacking this time!

I was going to put "SCV 3/5" in the thread title, but I can't change it.

Things are going well with SB prep! IDK if any of the internationals coming play SC but I will post if so.

EVO SF4 champ Infiltration from Korea is confirmed, as is EVO champion Mad_KOF. That bring us to 6 countries confirmed for SB. We will officially add to that total soon.

Will try to bring as many Chicago SC players as I can since it's only a bus ride away. Any hotel deals?

the holiday inn is $89 (this is also the tournament venue). there are a lot of other hotels within walking distance, including a comfort inn and a red roof inn both of which are about $10 less a night and right across the street from the venue. it'll be great to see you guys here

sp1d3r: earliest pools start at 6. make sure to get there a little earlier for registration and all that other junk though

What time will SCV start on Friday? I work until 5pm and i live 90 mins away. Also, can i register the day of?

Also also, check your PM Sluch!

earlier in the thread someone mentioned the "earliest pools" starting at 6. I'm not sure if SoulCalibur is part of the earliest pools, but if it is, then it looks like you won't be able to make it on time :/

i'd suggest preregging if you know you're gonna be a little late. but you should be alright. i'll be running brackets and i'll definitely try and accommodate you.

really getting hype for this

I will most likely be coming out to this event. Should I not have anymore personal dilemmas arise..
Can't wait to see the Chicago people for this one!

I just registered myself today for SB:A, so I'll see everyone up there next weekend for sure.
