Soul Calibur 6 Discussion

I hope when they reveal Soulcalibur VI it'll be all epic. I can see it being presented at PSX, with the announcer doing his usual PR thing before the trailer starts. With the heavy focus on story, I imagine it being cinematic. Possibly something like this:

"Thank you everyone. It is proud moment for me to present to you a game that our friends in Japan have been developing for a long time. It is an epic journey, a tale of souls and swords. Without further ado, I present to you: Soulcalibur VI!"

Crowd cheers.

"Transcending history and the world, a tale of souls and swords, eternally retold..."

The text of the line is displayed on a black screen as the announcer says it.

Once the screen clears, we get a shot of Siegfried standing in the middle of a forest, holding his Zweihänder in deep thought, clearly struggling with himself. After a second passes, he speaks.

"My past, my struggles. It's bred the fires of war, and the wielder of the Soul Edge haunts the world once again!"

Cut to various story scenes. First we see Maxi approaching Astaroth, ready to settle things permanently.

"You don't even remember them, do you?!" Maxi says.

"Why would I remember such lowly little maggots like you!" Astaorth says.

Maxi charges at Astaroth before cutting to another scene of Kilik, training with his staff, and being confronted by his rival. He challenges him to a battle before cutting to another scene. Then we get the next big story scene.

Sophitia prays to the Gods, in the position with her sword stabbed into the dirt.

"Gods, forgive the pain and suffering my family has brought onto the world. I need you, now more than ever!"

Another transition. Maxi and Xianghua travel together in search for Kilik, Ivy battling Cervantes, and Talim running through the grassy fields with the mission to end the suffering of the world. The third major story scene takes place.

The camera focuses on Mitsurugi as he speaks to an off-camera character.

"It's been a long time, my dear old 'friend'. I have a job to do, yet you keep standing in my way."

The camera then shifts to none other than Taki, who had stood behind him with the implication that she stealthily appeared there.

"It's a good thing we're professionals."

"Then show me what you can do!"

Mitsurugi and Taki charge at each other, and their weapons clash just as the logo for Soulcalibur VI flashes on screen.

"Soulcalibur VI!"

Fades to black, with nothing but next saying "Coming 2018."

Then the stinger...

Nightmare appears on top of a castle, focusing in on his red eyes before zooming out, showing him being powered by Soul Edge. A faint evil laugh is heard before he speaks.

"Soon, I will drown this world in bloodshed and the world will become my nourishment!"

The crowd cheers even louder as the trailer ends, finally giving us what we've all been waiting for.

Something along the lines of this would be perfect.

That Marcus guy also stated that it was "interesting" that it was Tales of Phantasia's anniversary on the 15th. -> points out towards Tales of

However, someone told him that Fighter Z on Switch and a JoJo game would be lit, adding "what else does bandai do" to which Marcus answered "soul calibour" [sic]. -> points towards SCVI

Let's see let's see... *tries not to be too excited*

BTW, if a SCVI is happening, I hope they'll get rid of the "Raphaël is Nightmare" thing -_-

That would be epic, but idk about them revealing that many characters in the announcement trailer lol.

I guess it depends on how big the roster is, because if it's large enough then it should be good. The main reason I'd like them to reveal that many is to quell the fears that Daishi's changes are going to stick. Seeing these classic characters in a cinematic story trailer would definitely get fans excited. SC will become cool again after all these years, that's what I hope at least.

Just stopping by to say that I heard from one source (the one that told me of the Switch version originally and Link being in it) that the Bandai Namco event on December 15th where they announce (and detail) 5 new games might be where they either reveal SCVI initially, or specifically just info and confirmation of the Switch version.
They said the things that are going to be a part of it/most likely include Soul Calibur VI, a new Tales of game since the 15th of December is actually the series' anniversary, the My Hero Academia game, that "unprecedented" One Piece game they announced earlier this year that is apparently an open-world game of some kind with the finalized name possibly being "One Piece: Unlimited Dawn," and the Dragon Ball FighterZ for Switch confirmation.
They said there could be some things swapped out for others, but those they said seem to be the mostly likely 5 that they know about to be revealed and detailed further during it.

Well, as long as Viola returns from the new cast, I'll be happy. I actually thought her style was really interesting. It would be really disappointing if it was cut, it would be about as bad as the Zas/Talim cuts if she was cut :(

Everyone in the internet is talking about Devil May Cry 5 and the possibilities of multutude characters etc like in the leaks. Where the hell are some SC6 infos?

So you know that newcomer I was talking about?
You know that style switching/multiple moveset thing I was talking about?
This is how it works:

Before you ask, no, the character is not Darth Maul. lol
But his weapon was the inspiration for the new guy's. I needed a visual to express the idea.
And before you worry, no, it's not a lightsaber, they are swords. More like Cao Pi's Dual Blade from Dynasty Warriors 5 and 8 from what I hear, which is the same idea.
The new guy uses two swords that he can fight with separate, or combine them and fight that way. Two different movesets in one character.
