SoulCalibur V is one of the worst SC games in terms of content and replayability.

I changed my mind.

In Gameplay it is excellent, however, when you have finished the story and arcade modes, there is nothing to do.

There is:
  • no Museum Mode
  • no Weapon Master mode
  • no Chronicles of the Sword
  • no Edge Master Mode
  • no Arcade Endings
  • no Team Battle
  • no Survival
  • no multiple choices for the story mode

1. I like museum mode too, but how does that have anything to do with replayability?
2. Yes, it is unfortunate, but once you completed that you would still probably bitch about no replayability.
3. See 2
4. See 3
5. That does suck because less than half of the characters were touched on in Story mode.
6. Also unfortunate.
7. See 6.
8. While I do agree there was not enough to the story mode, I do have to say, this isn't Mass Calibur 5 (Soul Effect 5?). It's a fighitng game, what kind of choices do there need to be?

Congratulations! You are the 1,000,000th forum member to post this thread! You win...hopefully a closed thread from a moderator...

I agree. Soul Calibur Legends doesn't have a lot going for it. It only has 7 characters, theres nothing to do in the story mode other than collect weapons for all charcters and theres no multiplayer. I hope that Namco confirm Legends to be non-canon because its not good enough to be a main titl, Wait sorry? You're talking about Soul Calibur V? Well I humbly agree and disagree in different respects. Moving on.

Nothing to do after story mode huh?

Damn. If only there was a way.

To play against your friends and people online...

What if I don't have friends who play SC? What if my internet is too terrible to play online on? What if my family keeps downloading stuff and hogging the bandwidth?

Yes I could. For not making some good and lasting single-player modes.

Why are you buying a fighting game, a genre built almost specifically for multiplayer, when you have no friends and can't play online. Do you play smash brothers and mario kart on your own too? The longevity of these games comes from the multiplayer aspect of them.

If you have friends of any sort you should be able to get them to play the game, even though it's got a few more advanced aspects to it, you can still have a fun little drunken bash with it.

How does single player mode add longevity anyway? With a good online and multiplayer, a game can last for months if not years, you can complete story mode and all that other extra single player shit in fighting games after a week or so. Unless you wanted to make some sort of 100 hour rpg with the characters, you weren't going to get a long lasting one player mode.

That is no excuse to make shitty single-player modes. Modes like Weapon Master, Arcade etc can make a game last for months. My friends prefer Tekken over Soulcalibur unfortunately.

Just to say, some of us aren't rich. And some of us bought the game for fun. even if we don't have friends who play them.

Yes I play brawl alone. I don't have friends that do. I luckily had wifi for the last few months of it's life.

Yes i play Soul calibur with no friends or online. I have been since SCII. and i could really care less. The single player modes make it fun for someone who doesn't have online.

While i am dissapointed with the lack of single player modes. I can't fault them for trying different way's to make multiplayer more acsessible and fun.

(Though, even to the people who play multiplayer, the lack of good single player modes must have been a shock. the SCII ones we're really fun)

Why do you have to make copies of the same damn thread over and over again? Like you haven't made 5 threads exactly like this one.
And the story mode for scII wasn't that great anyways... Each character only had one small cutscene for their destined fight and still pictures for endings.
Why oh why do people keep hyping the old soul calibur games... have you guys like seriously played them recently? They are mediocre compared to the newest games. I think you people are seriously suffering from some kind of nostalgia disease.

Oh yea btw you know that game called Tekken 6? The one that has the really long story mode and arcade endings for everyone?
People still bitched and complained about how that game was absolutely terrible, despite having many more modes than Soul Calibur V.

I am convinced that some people are just never satisfied.

Yep. Recently, I have played SCII and III and they offer more modes than V. The multiple routes III offered were excellent including the multiple endings. Weapon Master in II was great.

So these threads are great. I don't know why you guys would want to keep finding a reason to get them closed when they just give you a reason to populate your ignore list.

I'm sure once the mods are back from Winter Brawl where they are getting the most out of the game and not complaining about single player modes, they will take out the trash. Until then, enjoy it.

YOU should earn a grammy award!!!!!!!=P

some people aren't.

I can say though, that too someone who played the games for the single player modes because they couldn't play online or with other people they have a right to be dis satisfied. They played through everything by enjoying the story mode and the single player modes, they can't help but feel sad when they see that single player Sucks.

and It's the game the makes the Single player modes. A Terrible game(like above) isn't goood with ton's of single player modes.

And people love the old games because they Well, Love them. :p I fail too see what's wrong with that.

( I think SCV is fine. Before people take this the wrong way)

Well good luck finding your next fighting game with 100 hour long single player rpg side quest with its own battle system and fully fleshed out plot. I'm sure it will exist.
