Speed of finding ranked matches?

Follow the rules!
It feels like it's been this way in Tekken 6 and SCIV, too.

The people on top of the leaderboards have +200 matches more than I do. They always have, usually, but thanks to the License feature I can look and see that their hours have already passed 30-40.

(I have 13 logged, because... I've been... doing other things...)

Looking at the numbers, it leads me to believe that... people aren't playing at a faster pace than I am, even though I had always believed it in other games. Is Ranked really this slow? Am I doing something wrong?

I hit up the Global Colosseo just because it's faster to get a match. (Thank you Project Soul for that, I don't even have to wait in line in Player Matches either.)

Waiting around watching the "searching" prompt is boring... in a lot of games, including this one, apparently, I don't feel like playing ranked, not because I mind the salty attitudes or getting charged out the gates or anything, but because I'll fall asleep before I get a match.
 
Thou hath thine true story that thyself cringes at the thought of progressing such tenacity to wait for a match anymore. You have opened my eyes, I thank you. To each their own though, I personally like ranked because it's amusing to see all the people failing, getting desperate and showing their true colours, makes my thighs all tingly. Wait never mind that's with every match type. And if you look at the top ranked players matches in ranked, that would be a general overview of how many fights it will take to level I just got to C5 and I'm like 70-1.
 
same, C5, 80-11, and bored out my damn mind.

Honestly, just the idea is kind of flawed, and I'm disappointed that it's become the norm. When do you fight someone only once locally?

There's no rematch button!
 
Yeah this game seriously needs to borrow that feature from SF4 where you can play offline modes while waiting for a connection.

Yes. YES! It wasn't just me! T_T
I sometimes wonder how those people who reached A1 level made it there in the first place. It is not in the realm of possible to fight the number of matches necessary to reach that level! And some of them I mostly fought from the beginning in Player Matches. I simply don't get it.

Could it be my internet connection's fault? Maybe I find less opponents because I can't get 4+ bars with a majority of Europeans (I live in SE Europe, so that puts me a bit farther from W Europe)...
 
I used to be getting matches practically near instant, but now it would take about 10+ minutes to find a match, only to be disconnected at the character select screen.
