Ssf2thdr!

New blog entry:

Alot of good ideas seem to have been implemented.

I'm hyped because I've always been better at 2D fighters, so I can't wait to get online and start beating the shit out of people until SF4 drops in Feb. I'm just not as good with 3D fighters. Anyone else like that?

I'm the same way myself. I just like 2D games better as a whole though.

SC4 is probably the most interested I've been in a 3D fighter. Most of that comes from meeting a bunch of the CJ guys on another site and them being just a train ride away. Too bad I have yet to make it, lol.

but yeah, tomorrow I'm probably gonna bum it with my PS3 all day on this and MGO. So I'll be down for matches if anyone else is game.

They balenced Akuma in Remix mode, I cannot wait take him for a spin.

But only AFTER some fools "GET GIEF'D!" into some pavement.

Thanks oober and Chopper for the price corrections.

oh and...

CONDOR DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!!!!

Time to see in my cheap SF4 Sagat tactics work. I'll be playing this extensively to work on my zoning until SF4 drops.

I been checking it all damn day today until the system signed me out at 6PM. That's when I knew they finally did their update to the PS Store.

I'll be playing this and Soul Calibur over the holiday with a splash of Call of Duty here and there.

It's cool. I've only been playing it for 17 years.

So far the game was what I was expecting for $15. It has a few issue and I have some nitpicks about it, but it is an okay stop gap until SF4 comes out in February. I'll play it casually but stick with SC4 mostly.

The netcode is a wee bit spotty but it's much better than it was a few hours ago.

Players sure do like to jump around quite a bit. Too easy to nail them with a Cannon Spike or whatever you call Fei-Long's fiery kick.

The sprites and the soundtrack are amazing!! Gameplay is well done too (Althogh its a bit hard to play with PS3 pad. :p) I know its not part of Super Turbo; however, I wish they redid the Break the barrel/Break the car minigame. Other than that, definitlly worth the price.

The game is worth the price. Some of the remix track I like and others I hate, so I went back to the original music which makes the game much more enjoyable to play in my opinion. I hate that I have no idea who I am playing until the match actually starts and no idea what their connection is. I don't know how I went from having a score to 0 since I have no idea how the game keeps score and how I keep going down in rank with the more wins I get unless I need to have 0 losses. I don't get how they use Guile's voice from SF2 for his Sonic Boom but use the voice from SSF2 for when he loses. Cammy looks like an alien. T. Hawk has the gayest win pose evar. He sits on the ground and opens his mouth real wide. For what I don't know.

I like playing the game offline than online. It's good to have a SF on the PS3 since mine can't play PS2 games and I am not buying SFA. But SC4 is alot more fun to play so I'll only play SF casually.

I don't quite understand the Cammy - Alien anaolgy. As for Guile, I guess I never noticed the voice thing because I never really cared. It doesn't affect anything. As for T.Hawk, he's always had that win pose.

I'm enjoying this game. I suppose it's due to me never really having my own copy of ST so now I can really bother to learn the game, rather than just play and get my ass handed to me by the people who know the game far more than I do.

That was my plan initially. Just play a little bit online. Especially after hearing from alot of people that picking up super turbo helps your game in just about every other 2D fighter because so much of the basics are based on what ST started.

I should probably learn a bit more about the game before jumping online against 17 year vets again though. Especially while still having 98 and GG mechanics and habits in my head.

as for netcode, I played 2 people last night and didn't really have any trouble with it.

That's me. Result of alot of KoF hyper hopping. lol

I'd assume it's not that you're going down, it's that people who used to be below you are passing you up.

Just from playing so much more than you probably. (Dudes probably still on some 12 hour kick with the game)

Most people aren't going to notice or care about the little things, but those are the things I notice. And those are just basically nitpicks that I have about the game. Someone who's playing SF for the first time won't notice or care about those either.

The main problem I am having is with my hits not registering, the connection being lost before a match starts, and when the game jumps when I am playing online. And it would be nice to have some idea of who I was playing against before a match started. I don't even know who they are selecting as a character at the character select screen which is ridiculous.

I haven't been playing the game from that long, just a few hours so that I could talk and find all about it, but I don't get how I went from having a rating to not having a rating an hour later. But whatever. I'm just going to be playing it casually so the nitpicks that I have won't matter when I am fighting someone online. I'll be spending most of my time with SC4 and playing this on and off.

Keeping it secret just makes people go with either Ken or Ryu. Or people will move around making a bunch of noise to make it seem like they aren't selecting Ken or Ryu but do so anyway. I just use Ryu and call it a day.

It doesn't sound like it will be released in the EU, but I don't see why not. Is it good? It's a great game for the price. It's for those who can't get enough SF, are new to the game, don't know about GGPO, or need something to play until SF4 comes out. If you aren't that into SF, then I would just wait for SF4 to drop. But this game is a good way to work on your skill until then. That is what I will be doing.

I bought it so I don't have to use my computer to play SF and I love that the game is in HD. Plus I can get into a match easier than I could using GGPO.

i think blind selection is good idea for ranked matches definitely, but there should be options for the host to switch on/off in unranked matches. (i dont know what the online system is like im just assmuing its somewhat similar to sc4 lol)

I wish you could switch it off but I am starting to like the fact that the opponent doesn't know the asswhipping that they are about to receive when they go against me since its hidden until fight time. And after playing this for a while, I am really starting to like it.
