Would you like a steampunk or clockwork character?

The title explains it. Would you like to see a steampunk or clockwork character in SCV or any future Soulcalibur games? There is a wealth of character concepts to find in the steampunk art style, and they already have a beautifully designed clockwork character, Asholette, but she is only a bonus character.

Note to Malice/Jaxel/Admins: I realize that this may fall under the thread "Soulcalibur V General Roster Speculations". I would not like this thread to be moved or shut down, but do so if you must. It will simply be discussed more if it is a thread instead of a post. Also, this is about any future Soulcalibur games, not only SCV. So it doesn't technically belong there. Thank you.

Oh hell yeah.
I can imagine a clock work mecha.
A very bulky, crude and asymmetrical body with spinning gears like yoshimitsu has on his arm
with a design nod to mokujin/combot made of wood and metal.
who has internalized weaponary.
and has a hybrid fighting say somthing like Necrid.
Necrid because his weapons were constantly changing and disappearing.
A mimic but not quite.
also balanced and fair.

It could also be graceful and artsy, like Asholette. Any steampunk or clockwork character deserves their own weapon in my opinion, not a mokujin mimic

not a mokujin mimic

I didn't say a straight up mimic.
Though i agree an original fighting style would be cool.
Maybe with a few recycled guest moves. Like they did with kratos for aeon

It could also be graceful and artsy, like Asholette.

It being artsy is fine.
But not to the point where it could not be easliy identified as steam punk or clock work.
Asholette was always pretty.
But she never really screamed steampunk to me.

Yes, absolutely, they must be able to be identified as steampunk or clockwork. Also, since most conventional steampunk characters are British, they would fit perfectly, as we have no true British characters except Ivy. The closest we have are Dampierre (Unknown), Raphael and Amy (France), Cervantes (Spain), and Seigfried and Hilde (Germany). I didn't even realize that Ivy was British until I checked the wiki. We need more British characters, and steampunk or Victorian would be awesome.

I personally have always felt soulcalibur could use more fantasy elements.

non-human combatants for one.(aeon is really shaping up Nicely)

exciting new fighting styles. (viola is a good start)

Even more fantasy cas parts.(like yoshi's arm)

Since Voldo was getting up in age and hadn't been confirmed early on, my friend godspu's idea was to have a clockwork Voldo. I thought that would have been pretty badass.

If the series took place in a timeline like the 1850s, steampunk might be able to work. But its in the 1600s; within the renaissance era, so I don't think it would. Steampunk has always been based around the victorian era 1837-1901, so it's probably too modern for Soul Calibur. :P

I want ashlotte to return very much actually, and to have a more unique move set.
It would be nice to see her again. maybe with some recycled Darth Vader's moves.

To me her appeal was that she was so dainty and petite but to then have such a powerful move set.

It was cool to see her in action.

I could get behind this idea.

it would fix any aging issues with the story line.

Plus imagine how crazy his move set would get.

A voldo who could move his limbs, torso and head a full 360 degrees.

Bad ass indeed.

As far as the time line goes and this being the wrong era for a steampunk/clockwork character.

Well lets just chalk it up to magic.

ooooh ooohh. ;)

I, too, would love for her to return, but unfortunately she will not because Namco does not own the rights to her character. She was designed for Namco by an outside artist, Ito Ōgure, also nown as "Oh! Great".

I understand what you are saying, and provide you with three counter-arguements:

1. The steampunk characters could use their advanced technology to come to Europe, or Earth, from a faraway land that has steampunk technology.

2. Clockwork did exist at this time, as proven by Asholette. She was a beautiful character and no one complained that she was out of place.

3. Aeon the Lizardman
Olcadan the owl
Ivy the never aging woman
Z.W.E.I the werewolf
Viola the woman with a floating orb
Nightmare the (formerly) living suit of armor
Raphael the resurrected vampire
Zasalamel the eternaly reincarnating immortal man
Asholette the clockwork woman
Voldo the... well... uh...
Schezerdale the elf
Every boss character
Yoshimitsu the man with the clockwork arm
Astaroth the 6' 8" 7 year old
Cervantes the zombie ghost pirate
Dampierre the village idiot and smartest con man ever
Spawn the demonic comic book character
Link the hylian elf
The Star Wars characters from a galaxy far, far away

A steampunk, and especially a clockwork character, would not be that peculiar among this cast

The steampunk style also opens the door to many stages, including:
A giant robot in a machinist's workshop

A classic train station
Steampunk-Giant[1].gif
A city center

Or the ever present zepplin
