Step moves without stepping

The only way I can think of such an example is doing 6622_88B. You can do an instant side step move will running towards your opponent or stepping away from an opponent.

In fact this is true for all movements. Sorry if you don't understand notations, let me try to explain like this:

:6h: This means holding it in a certain direction, in this case it means towards your opponent.
:6: This means tapping it once or how many times the arrow appears in a certain direction.

If you wanted to do :2::2: or :8::8: and then a sidestep move without sidestepping, you can do:

:6h::2: or :6h::8: then press the button for the desired sidestep move.

You can also do stuff like :1h::2: or :4h::2: then a sidestep move, this works for all types of moves such as you can do a dash attack by:

:8::8::6: and then the dash attack desired.

Apart from that welcome to 8wayrun!

Thanks, that's a very useful thing to be able to do.
Yes, it allows extra variety in what you do and gives you more mind games. For example, Ivy has a sneaky low attack that not many people remember, it is:

:1::1::B:

But using to example I showed you before, you can do:

:6h::1::B:

Which is very useful for tricking them. And if you do it close enough you can get a free bK (ground stun) move afterwards because most opponents can't ukemi or don't react fast enough.
