Mods, if this is in the wrong place, do with it as you will.
I learned this layout three years ago. For the release of the new game, I figured that some players would not know about this little trick, and so I wanted to share it.
Here is the configuration:
X - B
Circle - K
Square - A
Triangle - A+K (this can be whatever you want, now that A+K inputs are obsolete. I use K+G for a dedicated taunt button.)
L1 - A+B
L2 - B+K
R1 - G
R2 - A+B+K
In Xbox-speak:
A - B
B - K
X - A
Y - A+K (or whatever you want)
LB - A+B
LT - B+K
RB - G
RT - A+B+K
You can switch the positions of the B and A+K buttons depending on your preference, if you want B to be the top face button or the bottom face button.
All of your simultaneous button presses are accounted for: A+B, B+K, (A+K), A+B+K...
Throws are easily done by using your thumb to press A or B and your forefinger to press G on the shoulder button.
Using G on a shoulder button also makes it so that your thumb does not have to "commit" to holding G. You can let go and immediately attack.
This also prevents you from having to use "Tekken Claw" and cramping your fingers. We don't practice Fujian White Crane over here.
I hope this helps you, and makes playing on pad a little easier.
