Top 3 rush-down character?

As per title.

I'm not sure if Mitsurugi is considered a good rush-down character, or are there better ones?
I think Taki and Talim are considered 2 of the best?

By rush-down, I mean those guys who keep sticking so darn close to the opponent that they're basically raining hits non-stop, in different variations till the opponent feels so stressed.

Top rushdown characters is all on the player really. Numerous characters have this ability, but the player's style is what defines it. I mean, I rush people down with Rock for instance.

For arbitrary pre-disposed rushdown, your usual suspects come to mind: Setsuka, Taki, Maxi, Asta, Talim, Mitsu, Yoshi, Raph, Amy.... heck even X and Yun excel if played rushdown style.

It'd be really hard to nail it down to a concrete list, because as I said, it's all on the player, their mind games and oki/wake up shenannigans.

I can't bring myself to think Talim as a rushdown character, her block frames are pretty bad for her range.

If you want to keep throwing out hits at the opponent on block, cassandra and amy are probably the best IMO. But if played correctly I think most of the cast can give a lot of pressure.
 
If I get on you will cass trust me you will know it and eventually fall then half your life bar is gone if your not careful :p but LeftHandLead will definatly show you how to RD with asty... so its hard to say...
 
Characters who dont have good offense. Clearly.

But you can play the entire cast as rushdown, since everyone has mixup. Rushdown is to overwhelm them with pressure and midegames, correct?

ur absolutly right. but then again anyone who knows how to play against everyone would have those same odds. thanx for being so vauge...however....I firmly believe that maxi is one of the better characters for keeping emence pressure on the oppenent, so long as you know how to use him.

I wouldn't really call her good at rushdown or standard pressure. I mean, if you keep on scoring hits then of course you can just keep on attacking however you want, but that's standard for all characters. She can do it for short amounts of time with frame traps that give minor advantage on block against characters that don't have fastest class pokes, but those get stuffed if you try to rain down with it constantly. If you want to play like that with you're going to have to resort to her evasion moves eventually and that will get risky against anyone familiar with her.
 
Number 1 rushdown character is Amy. Second would most likely be Setsuka, but the third best rushdown character, I don't know that there is one since there are a lot of folks who can rush. Taki isn't a top rushdown character and neither is Maxi. But u got characters like Voldo, Astaroth, Mitsurugi, etc that'd be candidates for #3. I'd say Voldo.
 
if you use Setsuka u shouldn't need an explanation, but anyway:

Setsuka is super fast, can chain into attacks and create situations where she can GI easily, she kills step easily, almost all of her counter hitting moves are safe and very damaging (which helps her to lockdown), then she has an insane mixup game.

I don't see how she kills step better than anyone, though. And her mixup game doesn't seem any better than anyone else's either.

Mid/high attacks and throws. Wow?

But her counter hit tools do help her "pressure" game...


Still, I wouldn't put her anywhere near top 3 in pressure.

I would man obviously you never had someone who is really good with setsuka rushdown on you every round... If you can play with her... and I mean hit all her jf combos and keep the pressure its pretty easy to destroy people... if you ever run into mgvfinest he has a reaal nice setsuka im sure he will show you and your opinion will change quickly about her...
 
eats your defence alive... eventually you will try to attack probably with high or medium... he will GI that, counter... and take half your life bar before you get up and keep attacking you.... wow man its shame that there arnt really that many good sessuka players online... because people have a hard time do JF's online... not this dude... ive honestly seen him do almost every characters JF's online... hence him being JF master I suppose >.>...
But... I realized you play on the XBL so you wont see him... he plays on PSN... thats an A class player playing with her... no scrooblet will be that good...

He speaks the truth. I've seen what this guy can do (and played him), and it's nothing short of amazing. He hits every last JF, JI's just about every unblockable you use on him, and kills you in a second.

Still, it sounds like he's an amazing player. So what tells you that he wouldn't be able to do the same with other characters?

Edit: And maybe he's not that good, and you two don't see the weaknesses in your games.
Some people are like that, they know that typically, after a certain attack, they can GI and they'll probably catch something. Things like that can impress those who don't realize how easy it is to do.

But if you say that he GIs unblockables frequently, then go back to the second line in my post.
