Viola Story

There is a meme you should look up, in asian culture, women don't age between 18-40. On top of all of this, YOU ARE ALL STILL ASSUMING THAT THE CHARACTERS FROM THE CHARACTER SELECT HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THERE, TAKE A SECOND AND REALIZE THAT ALPHA PATROKLOS, PYRRHA OMEGA, AND ELYSIUM WEREN'T EVEN IN EXISTANCE FROM THE START OF THE GAME. So Nightmare loses soul edge and turns into original Raph. Can't be nightmare without soul edge. And since the cutscene basically shows that Nightmares arm isn't stuck on the body, and is more of like "hey, I'm powering up!" its not like Raph needs time to lose his arm.

I had a random thought regarding Viola.

Bear with me, but, I was in the middle of researching and something suddenly occurred to me; the creators strongly tried to state that Viola is an entirely unique character, and in the new chain of souls that was created for SCV, Amy and Viola are mentioned to be separate characters.

As for my idea... is it possible that Amy passed away shortly during or after SCIV, but because she had been influenced with the essence of Soul Edge, she could have been resurrected; the resurrected individual becoming what would eventually be known as Viola? The 17 year gap could explain Viola's seemingly young, but obviously older age than what Amy appeared to be in past games and surely enough, it could explain other matters, too.

The fact that Amy and Viola resemble one another is normally an example of resurrection, as it tries to express similarities to the past life whilst creating individual features upon the new one.

Furthermore, isn't it possible that it could explain and further support why Raphael wouldn't immediately recognize her? Several things would make a lot more sense and add up.

I for one thought she was some sort of doppelganger~hm that can make sense, and that could in some way, explain why she would have amnesia :O But if that was the case, why would her hair turn white? Not that its a major thing. Her hair could have turned white because of her use of magic

It's been said earlier(and I can't find where) that constant use of magic makes your hair paler and eventually white. I'm positive it was in this thread some where.

Isn't that from the Slayers? Lina's hair turned white after she used Giga Slave on Ruby-eye Shabranigdo.

I don't know. Maybe, I just heard someone from this thread say it and I'm too lazy to check.

Anyways, I think I might make a list of what Viola says to certain people. Like, her entry quotes. And also, I know that most of you know this, but she has a different 'Fall...." quote for people in the game as she grapples them from behind. I'll make a list of that when possible.

Here it is.
The moon is red, red like wine: to--Pyrrha, Ivy, Tira, Voldo, Pyrrha Omega, Cervantes
In the moon, I see everything: to--Everyone besides Zwei
Curiosity killed the cat---when taunting Zwei.

Fall...Crimson moon---Pyrrha, Tira, Voldo, Ivy, Pyrrha Omega, Cervantes
Fall...Blue moon---Seigfried, aPatroklos
Fall....New moon---Raphael, Nightmare, Astaroth, Elysium
Fall....Crecent moon---Zwei
Fall....Star of chaos----Edge Master, Kilik, Algol, Viola
No use in...fighting---Ezio and custom characters
Fall....Full moon---Everyone else.

This is a bit interesting. I can't really find a pattern. What do all of you think?

I can think this:
Crimson moon- Crimson color in all characters that are Soul-Edge related/ villians (Pyrrha still has soul edge blood, and Ivy does too), same for "Red moon" because the blood of soul edge is red and maybe it is tainting her "vision"
Blue moon- Blue color for Soul Calibur related characters (Siegfried and Patroklos used Soul Calibur)
New Moon- No idea, but maybe because a new moon appears to be completely dark, and those characters are sort of empty (Except for Raphael, but if he is just nightmare then it would make sense)
Crescent Moon- Obviously the crescent moon motif on Zwei.
Star of Chaos- All of them are related to Astral Chaos (Perhaps thats where the "clone" comes from, and you're fighting the past version of yourself)
Thats the best I could think of, and it doesn't really make sense that Nightmare wouldn't be in the Crimson Moon.

True, I expected Nightmare to also have the Crimson moon too. Then I heard that both Raph and Nightmare had New moon said to them. I thought this was confirmation that they were the same person, but then she said the same to Asta and Elysium. And that idea was thrown out.
What's Viola's relationship to Astral Chaos anyhow? Maybe it's the source of where she got her powers before she had lost her memory. Also, do you think that Star of Chaos could be that large liquidy rock in the background of the Astral Chaos stages? Probably.

This is simple:

Crimson moon, in regards to its color, is the signifying color of Soul Edge. Characters who are malfested and/or are have the Evil Sword in their blood are seen as the crimson moon.

The Blue moon is also directly connected to Soul Calibur and its signature blue color. The two wielders of the sword in the series, Siegfried and Alpha Patroklos, are connected to the sword and are the only ones who have or are wielding it in SCV.

New moon is my favorite, which is why I am posting in this thread. The new moon is referencing how all these characters are "new" and not old. You are right to connect it to Nightmare and Raphael. Nightmare and Raphael both mysteriously died and were resurrected, Nightmare by Tira with a corpse and Raphael in a cell (most likely had been that corpse). Astaroth is one of many new Astaroths being manufactured by the original cult by revere engineering the original core of Astaroth from SCIV. As for Elysium, she is included for being the embodiment of Soul Calibur's spirit and being newly manifested based on Patroklos's memories of his mother when wielding the blade.

Star of Chaos may refer to all of them being related to Astral Chaos, but I have a feeling it is more in line with them all trying to maintain the balance between the two swords, or themselves. All of these characters are in some struggle which may be described as chaotic or have overcome such a struggle. If this is not the case, then we can infer that Viola's orb and its power to sap away her memories is somehow directly involved with Astral Chaos and the two swords.

Crescent moon is an obvious reference to ZWEI and EIN's theme

Full moon is most likely a default for characters that are neither directly related or connected to the swords, have been cleansed of the swords' influence (or Soul Edge's malfestation), or not qualifying for any of the other descriptions.

Excellent note, I never knew of these lines. Thank you.

Very clever find!
Star of Chaos...Hm. That one makes me think deeply.....For some reason I think it has something to do with Soul Edge...you know since soul edge is chaotic or a more obvious choice Astral Chaos. Hmph maybe even Algol :p
