I listen to a wide ranging playlist and pick chars based on whats playing.....i havent really worked out a who goes with what for scv....so i'll just go with my SCIV playlist....seven nation army glitchmob remix? any big bruiser. warrior concerto? raphael or amy. cammy theme oc remix-talim. actually i have a number of street fighter remixes vega's theme goes with any noble/high society char. high tempo beats for fast chars like talim. animus vox/wood kid-iron/duke nukem-grabbag remix/ and skillet's hero and awake all make me wanna play rock.
....and my playlist goes on but basically i just make a big playlist set it to shuffle and thats my means of random picking. i follow the music.....regardless of whether i'm actually good with the char or not. kinda forced myself to get around to most of the cast at some point or another.
 
I usually have about 3-4 different types of media playing, not including the game. I used to play on micspam servers a lot, and now the noise is kind of....necessary. If I'm in a quiet room I look for a radio or tv
