Who all is considering/going to pick up Viola as a main in SC5?

I definetley want to at least try Viola out and learn her playstyle. Her moves look cool, and I think she looks hot, lol.

I always knew Amy was gonna grow up to be a ravishingly beautiful woman, lol.
 
With Amy being my main in IV it was a given to pick up Viola. I really liked her mix up oriented style and misguiding attacks. From what I played at SCR she was just that, with proper combo practice she can be a violant contender. Her CE is a great tool to grasp clutch victories.

Lolz only Amy was a gay easy douche, Viola will be zoning madness and planning. Good luck with the transition. ^^
 
I was thinking of going for this char but after playing her i thought she wasnt as interesting as i thought she was going to be. So going for hilde currently :P

I wonder if you have? Their concept is pretty much exactly the same, only diffirence is weapon appearance but they are pretty much used the same.

Litchi mantenbou 2d = orb low trajectory
Litchi mantenbou 5d = orb high trajectory
Kokushi Musou = viola's CE
Longer range with weapon, shorter range without weapon.

I think its fine if they use stuff from other games like ex moves and ultras for examples (better to steal right, then invent wrong as to speak :P).

Having played both viola and litchi they seem very very similiar which is (as i said before) fine but dont deny that they arent similiar and im pretty sure namco looked closely to arcsys :p

Ill just leave it at that for this thread.

How are you contributing again?

A person can have as many mains they want. a main is a person you excel or are good with. Last time I checked you can excel with more than 5 people. Sorry if I sounded harsh, but its true.
 
Well maybe you do have 10 mains.

I was implying that if you have that many "main characters" you're most likely trash. Knowing a moveset and a couple combos doesnt constitute as having a main character. Furthermore a main notates something as singular, at the very most 2 or 3, and even then those are secondary and tertiary characters, not main characters.

Of course I could be wrong, but I doubt it. As everyone would have 10 main characters and high level tournaments would just consist of counter picking. But it doesnt. So I'm probably right.

I just got trolled by a bunch of casuals who think you can really have 10 main characters in Soul Calibur. Rotfl.

I can let you know that you may rest assured that you are not being trolled by a bunch "casuals". First of all you have insuficient information to call Fatal_Exodus and I that we are casuals.

Second of all, although you may not be proficient with more than one or two characters, does not mean others are not.

As you stated before, you could be wrong. This implies that you are not entirely sure of yourself. By saying a person can not main more than 5 people, is saying a person doesn't have enough memorization skills to do that. People can have great memories. A person can have as many mains as they want, as long as they take the time to learn them.

Just because you consider anyone with more than maybe two main is "Trash", it doesn't mean they are.
 
I'm maining Viola because well, for one, I like her design. Two, Kilik-bro said I needed to move on and hang out with top tier chicks more. Three, she looks top tier, but top tier in a way like Crimson Viper in UMvC3: High ceiling of potential. I really think she's at least top 3, and I'm pretty much aiming to prove that.
