Why can't we have tier list threads?

Just an observation that all the tier threads got closed eventually. This makes Captain James Hook a sad boy :(

No, I don't want this to be a 'tier thread', just looking for answers about why we can't have one.

Other communities don't seem to lock those threads with impunity.

There's no reason that we can't have tier list threads, but the problem is when certain people derail tier list threads with comments like tier lists don't matter or some other asinine statements which cause the thread to be locked. So you can point the finger at those people.

And at this point, what really is there to discuss with how balanced this game is? We already know who's great, who's good, who's ass, and everyone else in between is able to compete. And there hasn't been much change in tiers in 2 years. But if there's something in particular you would like to discuss on tiers, feel free to start a thread for it.
