I don't know.
My thoughts...

A hypothetical online-enabled demo that let you play Player Matches only and included four characters as the only playable characters for special rooms that only allowed those characters(so demo players could also play experienced owners of the full game if they so wished). I think that sounds pretty awesome for a demo, maybe a touch of CAS like only allow customizing one character with a random assortment of parts would be great as well.

I think that would have been lovely and helped boost sales a bit. If Nightmare had been included, the ignorant scrub talk of him being overpowered could have been at least partially silenced too, I imagine.

But that's just my psychotic opinion. How about you guys?

Soul Calibur 4 had one with Versus and a 3 stage story with only Nightmare and Cassandra where on the 3rd stage you are met with Darth Vader and just as his intro ends the game ends.

I whored this btw.

Oh ok.

Yeah, I used to play demos more than actual games until I ran out of space in my hard drive.

Actually yes, especially since the people in my village dont arent really familiar with this BEAUTIFUL game...cus theyre all SF and MvC3 and Tekken WHORES. heheh ^^;;; Yeah I think it would have promoted Soul Calibur better :)

It would have been nice. That's for sure. SC will probably always be in the shadows of the bigger names unfortunately.

Its too good of a game to be passed over by so many. Really disappointing that the fan base isn't bigger.

I don't think it would have helped. There was just too much lacking that casual players wanted. They took the time to read the reviews and decided not to buy it. Maybe a demo would have gotten some of them to knee-jerk buy it on the first day, but once the reviews started coming, it would be all downhill even with a demo.
