You know what really grinds my gears??

People who drink diet soda in the first place. It's nasty, and if you need to watch your calories that badly, DRINK WATER.

And besides, artificial sweeteners are terrible for you. It's probably healthier to be fat than to put that garbage in your body.

I feel the same way about Skim milk, Low fat yogurt, low fat Ice cream (seriously?), and turkey bacon (it doesn't deserve to be called bacon if it's not drizzling with delicious fat)

Kindred spirits on this matter.

I used to smirk when people would order extra large fast food meals with a diet Coke, but then I realised some people just plain like the taste. Promptly I realised that as this wasn't my opinion, it was clearly the wrong one.

I hate that certain drinks aren't readily available in the U.K, I understand things like ingredient sourcing and all that stuff, but it'd still be nice to buy the odd Vanilla Coke at a reasonable price from a non-import store.

Because damned if Vanilla Coke, Disaronno and Amaretto isn't my current favourite drink. Throw in some Rum to man it up.

The way I see it, I'm fat and happy. Never get between me and my fast food burgers or there will be hell to pay :)

That sucks that vanilla coke is exclusively American. I had no idea and it's also my favorite soft drink!

My weight bounces around like an 8th birthday party. Though I now have a craving for some Chinese food...

I think it's available in France too, not sure, but yeah. It's nearly $4 a can in the shop that stocks it. Ludicrous pricing.

To be more on topic, my gears are currently firmly ground by my neighbours not checking if the door is locked when they leave. Since I live in an apartment, there's one access door to the corridors and such, and the amount of times I've reached it to find it unlocked... It takes less then a second to do and greatly increases the security of everyone in the building. Might be one day I'll forget that I don't own ALL the post that's mailed to the building and just open it all.

Yeah I know how you feel. Right now, our upstairs neighbors had a baby a few years back and now he's a toddler that SLAMS his feet into the floor every step he takes... Everyday it's "Bang bang bang" over and over.

Perhaps he's whipping his hear in a forward, and then backwards motion? We have a lot of angry lesbians march past our window every night, arguing about all kinds of things. The perils of living near a gay bar in the centre of town.

TBH it almost sounds like the kid is running around chasing a dog or something. It's back and forth across the ceiling with the loud bangs.

Angry lesbians are not to be fucked with. Almost everyone I've met had a HUGE chip on their shoulder, probably because some male treated them badly in the past, a father, a boyfriend, whatever.

I have nothing against gay people per se, but I can't help but notice that the majority of them have some major issues. My GF's gay brother acts like a child when he doesn't get his way, and he's like 26 years old now.

Screw that. My boyfriend tries to have issues, but I banned them. It's true though, in a time where it's generally more accepted, people also now have a wider outlet for their feelings and opinions, so now everyone HAS to have one and it, of course, is the most important. And drama adds credence to EVERYTHING of course.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Everyone these days is a drama queen and it's all about "me me me my my my".

Having an opinion is one thing, I have mine that I mostly keep to myself. It's the people who feel the need to tell everyone else they're wrong, or the people who "demand to be heard" because they're emotionally challenged.

Truth be told though, every once and awhile people just need to complain about stuff.

30 seconds of Tumblr will allow you to amass an army of "pioneers and crusaders" of so-called 'social justice' that would be so large even Genghis Khan would be impressed. Naturally people need to complain, and hell, it's good to let off some steam every once in a while, but sometimes you're making some sort of 'world-changing cause' out of nothing. That's when you need to have a sit in the corner and think about your internet addiction.

And yeah, HRD is actually a pretty cool guy.

Touche god sir....touche

God sir? I'll take it.

I used to be an idealist. I used to think that me alone could "change the world", during my rebel teenage years.

I guess at some point in life, we just learn to accept things the way they are, and realize the futility of rebelling. Truth is, saying "the world is corrupt" is not wrong, but actually thinking you can do anything about it IS wrong.

It's almost like re-realizing that "life is unfair" decades after your parents drilled it in you since day one. Sure, I knew it when I was a child, but I don't think that it fully sunk-in until around age 25 or so.

The thing is, I've nothing wrong with a bit of good old fashioned, well-meaning idealism. But when you're championing the cause for black cosplayers to cosplay white characters if they want, it's a waste of effort. And yet people spend a LOT OF TIME doing this. Why?

I wouldn't say it was inherently wrong to say you could change the world, because I believe people can do that as individuals. After all, we shaped our own society, did we not? But assuming you can single-handedly save it with the power of good will and a couple of hundred "followers" on the internet? Ludicrous. Certainly you can have an impact, but unless you're name is Adolf Hitler, then I'm doubting it. Especially when your cause is as moot as all that.
