DARK SOULS 2- Praise the sun

I dont like the pvp now because even with high poise you still get stunlocked by fast weapons, poise just doesn't work in pvp. Long swords and daggers can always stun lock you, even the caetus can stun lock you. You just better hope you can hit R1 before your opponent does

It might not be working properly, either way you need to play lots of footsies now, which is fine with me. Stunlock blows though.

i'm not super happy about stunlock, but i didn't really like poise in DS1 either. now that poise has been nerfed, literally any weapon is viable now...except maybe daggers because of their crap range.

my main problem with PvP is that most invaders can't heal at all unless they use miracles. estus is just insane this time around since they made lloyd's talismans pretty expensive (1600 a pop) and it's now harder to backstab-punish them when they heal. i have heard that the dragon covenant can use estus so i might give that a try.

random note: people react really weird to the white ring when i invaded them. the white ring makes you look like a white phantom...that's it. so i'd have some hosts think i actually was a white phantom and not attack me. i even "helped" a host out during the level and once he made it to the boss i killed him.

Well I started from 0 medals to 30 medals just fighting the Mirror Knight so I'll say it's a good place. Took me about four hours or so.

Moveset is still the same as it was in DS1. I like the scaling though. At 20 Str and 20 Dex, 87 base dmg +117 more dmg due to scaling. At +10 it's supposed to have A scaling for Str/Dex so I'll have to work on that. Hoplefully it's enhanceable too.

Noted, thanks for that I'll try there. Executioner Chariot worked out sort-of okayish for a while.

A scaling mhm? Yup I'll definitely be going for that then. Kinda weird it doesn't scale with Faith, but maybe that's just me..

if you're in castle drangleic, the dual dragonrider boss is easy pickings for sun medals since everybody wants help on them. the sun sword is pretty much DS1's longsword now but with that sweet-ass A scaling. to be honest, i'm kinda glad it's not a faith weapon because i'd rather keep it plain and use sunlight blade or other buffs on it.

I don't have anything special but a few +8 sun sword, claymore and a +4 pursuers sword.
playmore with the claymore.

Killed Lucatiel for the pimp hat
Equip it
Discover that the ugly mask is attached to it
Fuck this shit, Pharis Hat for life

Lucatiel is dead almost for nothing :D

Well at least now i'm going to buy dat jacket

I just started this game and I already hate it.

The one thing annoys me the most is, why the fuck there is no pause? I mean, I understand the immersion and such, but is a game, if I'm the middle of a bossfight and the phone sounds or someone knocks the door I'm supossed to make them wait 15 minutes? I mean, doesn't sounds fair the posibility of losing all your souls because someone knocks the door.

Pursuer's sword is doing a really annoying thing where I turn before I swing it, making me miss my intended target by, oh, 500 miles.

I agree. My buddy isn't getting it for that reason alone; he has two kids, a wife, and, yeah, people call.

Oh but of course!

Requires: Soul of Siegfried.

So which infusements are people using? I got my Drangleic Sword, Zwei, Claymore, Mastodon GSword and Royal Greatsword and I'm thinking of infusing those while keeping my main (Bastard Sword) nice and clean. Any recommendations? I love my greatswords man.

This is just...so beautiful. WHY DIDN'T DARK SOULS 1 HAVE A BOSS LIKE THIS?!
does it take invaders or ssummon signs? i have yet to be mirror-knight summoned, but it looks rad. do you get anything besides souls for it?

i've been using lightning and some dark for my faith-strength build and bleed and poison on my dexterity build. there isn't really anything for straight up strength though unless you put some points into fth/int.

I'm a queer
Yes but trolling while they have to worry about the mirror knight smacking them in the face is just amazing

You just use a red soapstone outside of his fog door and he will summon you randomly. I just kinda spam the red sign every 10 seconds or so till it summons me.

Yeah seems Lightn/Dark are the way forward, soon as I figure out what miracles I want I'm respeccing into true Sunbro.

That is all
Eh, I'm still trying to decide which is easier out of this guy and Demon of Song...
Dragonrider is technically easier but you've got less weapon options, but Demon of Song has only damaged me once out of 4 different characters and only because I didn't even know it had a projectile... still never had to heal.

The enemies outside are more dangerous than Dragonrider though... but then I suppose the enemies outside Demon of Song are in a completely different league, so...
Can't decide...

In my experience infusion just makes everything weaker. Poison turned out to be essential for my dual-Dagger character late game, but other than that...
Perhaps that's just because I always make some investment in STR or DEX, so it's never an improvement.

I have a character that started as a Cleric and he ended up with a very high INT stat, yet the Magic Mace you find somewhere remains weaker than the Mace he started with, neither upgraded.

Edit: Strangely, Blue Flame's scaling and damage is improved if you make it poison or bleed.
Still getting used to the weapon... it's a shame it's all the way down in Undead Crypt, you don't get any practice in PvE... I guess this is the first character I'll bother doing NG+ with.
I hear it's more than just numbers this time.

Don't bad-mouth my sadist status effects.

Dual Bleed Black Scorpion Stingers + Crest of the Rat + Crest of Blood + Moon Butterfly set = Wicked fun

I also just realized spells don't have a spell cap, just a minimum of 10 int/faith. Sucks to find that out now. I sold most of my Hexes figuring wouldn't ever use them. Had like 6 Whispers of Despair.

quite a lot changes in NG+. some boss fights have new things added (like the extra guys for lost sinner and flexile sentry), certain items are only available during NG+ (like the anti-backstab ring), random phantom enemies everywhere, and the HP and damage boosts of course.

i haven't progressed too far into NG+ yet, only made it to iron keep, but i've used tons of bonfire ascetics along the way. i think i've used like 3 now in aldia's keep from farming the little pickaxe guys since they have a chance to drop dragon bones.
