Viola Combo & Tech Trap Discussion

Definitely sounds like fear. Maybe its a mistranslation from Japanese. I don't say "thee-er" when I say there. Maybe its "here" ... ?
 
If you turn off all the sound except for voices it sounds like "deer" or "dear". There's definitely a 'd' sound.
 
In her Japanese voice, she says, "Soko!", which means 'there' in English.

Also, if you listen closely, you can actually hear her say "There!".

Had a play about, and i know people have said this already but after 6a+b hits, if the timing is slightly out its techable, and also im sure that they can tech after "~2B+K BE > 6b+k > b~" in combos, but not "~B+K BE > 6b+k > b~"
So the 6b+k has to be followed up with 66a if you launch them with 2B+K BE, but when launched with B+K BE you can catch them with B , is this true to what you found?

I may well have been doing it at odd timings then if they are falling out, at least i have confirmation now that it probably is just me!
 
The 6b+k has to hit them from the bottom not their center for them to not fall out. I find its allot harder to time for some reason if you get a 2hit 6a+b instead of orb hit only.

I might play a little Viola on the side, but as a community, we REALLY need to be having a serious discussion on an outright ban to this character, this is way beyond a joke now.

Tested on Leixia and Apat - it defenitely works, but then I went to the bathroom, came back and now can't get 2K to combo into 6B+K, bad times. =(

The obvious answer is a ban man....to me its not that hard to figure out because as the game evolves more players will just keep on using these TOD combo's and with practice it's gonna happen nearly everytime.

Anyway:
6B+K will NOT combo with 2K, however it will with iFC 2K. This is important because it makes 1K 100% useless:

Meterless:
6B+K 1K - 33 dmg, advantage.
6B+K, iFC 2K, 2A - 39 dmg, +8.

With a BE, we can have more fun:

1 BE:
6B+K iFC 2K, B+K BE, 66B 66A+BB. 136 dmg.

2 BEs
6B+K iFC 2K, B+K BE, 6A+B, 2B+K BE, 6B+K, 66A, AAB, 66B, 66A+BB. 172 dmg.

3 BEs
6B+K iFC 2K, B+K BE, 6A+B, 2B+K BE, 6B+K, 66A, AAB, 6A+B, 2B+K BE, 6B+K, 66A, AAB, 66B, 66A+BB. 227 dmg

4BEs
6B+K iFC 2K, B+K BE, 6A+B, 2B+K BE, 6B+K, 66A, AAB, 6A+B, 2B+K BE, 6B+K, 66A, B+K BE, 66B, 66A+BB. ToD combo.


These are hit confirmable and I have them down already. Viola will never lose again. EVER.
 
I always knew that Viola was the most potentially OP character in game back in the first month. So why did she receive all those buffs again?

Man if this stays in the game then it's all over...once people master this The online scene and offline tourney scene will rarely survive well online perhaps....and @Force_of _nature: She received all of those buffs because project soul didn't know what they were doing and alot of people complained about viola being weak and didn't put in the time and effort to figure out her strengths then.

Actually, that's only 238 dmg ;]. At least, that's how much it does without clean hit or ukemi on.

Here's a 241 damage combo:

SET 6B+K > FC 2K > B+K BE > ORB 6[A+B] > 2B+K BE > SET 6B+K > B > B+K BE > SET 6B+K > B > B+K BE > SET 6B+K > B > AAB > 66B = 241 damage

EDIT: sometimes it does 239. Trade out last "B" for "66A" and it'll kill.
