This is square one. This is the most important lesson in Soul Calibur there is. If you do not understand this, you can do nothing. Victory will constantly evade you. You will lose for all eternity and there is no hope of success.

But there is a light at the end of the tunnel. When you know this- truly know this, it will permeate throughout the rest of your game. Your strength will increase hundredfold and only the titans themselves will be able to oppose you.

Super High-Level In Your Face TIERLIST!!!

I know I'm late 2 da partay but, seriously, I can't find any tierlist (das not a wurd lol) thread that I can post in and I never got to share my opinion. If possible, I want this to be a discussion because I want to talk about everyone's perspective and actually like to hear this stuff (so, if we can, no close, please). I mean, I know people get angry for whatever reason but that's just another spice of life, right?

I'd like it if, rather than posting you guyseses own that you criticize mine. Now, I understand that might not always be the case but I'd at least like for the topic to start off that way so that I can give a chance to give some reasoning. But, please, be direct in your criticism and questioning; it's much harder to answer the question, "Why is *X* here?" as opposed to answering, "Why is *X* here and not here?" or "Why is *X" here instead of *Y*?"

Everyone knows how to sidestep- move out of the way of those big verticals, or that BB spam, and hit the opponent while they’re open. But do you know how to backstep? The backstep is a powerful tool that enables an instant shift in momentum, a creation of chance from nothingness. Utilizing it properly will put you that much closer to achieving your true strength.

Fighting is difficult. You have to worry about mixups, frames, okizeme- the opponent is a thorn in your side, a problem. He has all of these options and you have to compensate for them. What if- you didn’t have to play his game at all? What if you could control the match and only engage the opponent when you wanted to?

There is a way- a very important concept that you may have heard of before. It’s called “spacing”. It is a technique that, when mastered, can make you impossible to hit- an untouchable master of your domain.
