Suikoden or Wild Arms

I have a spare 6 bucks on PSN, given to me by an un-named person lol.

And I'm thinking fo getting one of these two games. Anyone here played both and have an opinion on which is better?

OR just anyone played either of them and have a strong opinion on it?

Depends on what you are looking for. They both are rewarding in their own way. Wild Arms is much longer and more indepth, but Suikoden just has something about it that makes you like it.

I would probably pick Suikoden because the original is so good, but the game is very short.

Despite being one of the first RPGs on PS1 to be released in the US (Beyond the Beyond being the first I think), I thought it was only a little bit above average at best. I found Suikoden 1 to be more fun and engaging, despite being much shorter.

I'd take wild arms. I've played both, but I defenitely think that if you have not played the original wild arms, you are missing out on a gem of an RPG.

I'd go with Wild Arms, being the longer gameplay experience, you get to stretch your 6 bucks a little more.

Well I guess the simpler choice is this;

What have you wanted to play for a long time? If the answer is suikoden, try that. If you have yet to try Wild arms of any kind, try that. Either or, they are both great choices so there really isn't a hit and miss situation you have.

I'd go with Suikoden.

Wild Arms was great at the time, but Suikod- WAIT DON'T BUY EITHER AND GET A DAMN JOB TIM.

SHUT UP! I got one already.

I haven't really WANTED to play either, iv'e just now jumped on and thought that since I haven't played either, nor any other in the series of these, now would be the time to try.

Suikoden.

Wild arms has an awesome intro song, the actual game's pretty meh IMO. It's longer, but it's a painful kinda long.

If you're going to jump into any of the series, Suikoden is the better one. The series take place within the same world although not at the same place or time. So you will meet and/or have some references from others characters or events in the series. It won't impact much on your main story though.

Wild Arms series have no connection what so ever with each others. In Wild Arms 5 characters from each of the series do make a cameo appearance and thats all they are just cameo and not the original character themself.

^ Actually your right and wrong. Yeah none of the characters are really shown or outright referenced, but there are some exceptions. Other than maybe the last one (Have yet to play it) all story lines take place on Filgaia. In games past the first the original party is referenced as saviors, and even in 3 the main character is a descendent of Jane Maxwell. Bosses also re-appear. Though you are probably right that suikoden does have more intertwined aspects in each game, Wild Arms has it to enough of a degree that it is still noticible.

Never played Wild Arms, but Suikoden I is my favourite game. Period. I almost cried when *spoiler* *spoilered* I've nver played 2, though.

What I like about Suikoden is that it makes you care about the characters. All 100 of 'em.

It's also nice that it makes it dirt easy to level up newcomers to your party.
