I don't care if you read short or long quotes, others will. And where was confirmed exactly that Siegfried ending alone is the ONLY true ending?!

Let me quote something from Daishi twitter:

"妄想してくれ. RT @Fight4Music: Also which endings are canon?! Gauntlet finale from SC Broken Destiny or SC4 Sophitia's and Siegfried endings?!"

And Daishi answered:

"I’ll leave it up to your imagination. @Fight4Music: Also which endings are canon?!"

So with no further confirmation beside this we can come up with a mix of Siegfried, Sophitia and Gauntlet finale endings...
some times, I wonder why all these new members joined 8wr suddenly? Or atleast have been inactive till now, and now they want to opinionate. I just don't see why? follow my link above somewhere.

account because I already had but just with the announcement of the new Soul Calibur, there were issues to discuss

Now as much I like Tekken they had the same problem (The entire Mishima Family, Nina & Anna, Baek & Hworang (however you spell it)), well just about every game not named Virtua Fighter had that problem (but then again VF had Jackie and Sarah). Maybe I give SC a harder time because they deal with weapons, there are many styles that SC hadn't even considered before they started spamming clone characters.

I wonder how the new characters will tie in with the story anyway? Since Fighters are generally going back to the story in a fighting game format (Which Soul Blade started in my opinion), I wonder if Team Soul will take a similar route. They were doing a decent job until it became "Siegfried & Friends" by time SCIII came around. I expect them to keep the campiness from SCIV though, that'll probably be my only real complaint.

I recall reading that Namco stated that Broken Destiny's story was not considered canon at all.

Oh they're just ecstatic of the Soul Calibur to come. No need to get their cases like that.
The more players, the better chances of more promising players to meet and the like.

A lot of people fell off with SC4 for various reasons, and now everybody's excited for a new chance :D

It's a good thing!

I presume that an uprise of new people is customary to the announcement of a new title in said series? Hope majority of them stay around and fill in some blanks via offline competition.

I'm glad they are doing a timeskip because it means there should be mostly new characters. I've never been a fan of SC's character designs (other than Nightmare) so I won't be sad to see them replaced.

I wish it would just be a complete redo of the entire cast. kick all the old characters out. Seriously, sure you might like a character now, but if they were removed you may fall in love with their replacement. That and the old cast is kinda used up.

I think that move is way too dangerous and unnecessary as it still should remain soul calibur and not some kind of spin off. And as many have said, some iconic characters should stay where they are as they bring more customers and all the stuff. I think they took the best variant. 17 Years are perfect to refresh the roster with new characters but still leave the most important people in.

Its funny because no one knows anything about him. xD

That and we've seen what, two completely new characters, you still have nearly an entire cast to attach yourself too. :)

Nostalgia is a powerful thing, and I don't mean that in a negative manner.

The trick for Namco is throwing a proper balance, and figuring out which characters the fans really really care about.

The tira best come back.

Ten bucks says if she was a more solid character she would be way more popular
