Personally, I wouldn't want this. This kind of fluff would break the flow of the battle (we will already have ex moves and supers to do that). Even in DOA this effect lost its novelty pretty quickly. If they need to make bigger stages, they should make the stages... well... bigger, without resorting this sort of gimmick and let the ring outs be ring outs.

But I'm not a game designer and not part of the Project Soul so they can put in their game whatever they please.

Edit: I'm all for expanding stages by breaking down the walls etc. (like seen in SC4) but NOT if it means that we would have to see some "cutscene", even if it's just 1 or 2 seconds long.

I think it would be a sweet addition and If you don't like it you can pick a normal Boring Stage instead. I think the option would be sweet!

Merged four stage threads.

Please for the love of god keep any and all stage discussion here. This forum (and others) does not need more than one discussion about stages. It's pointless and clutters up the forum. No matter how original your idea may be, it DOES NOT need a separate thread. If I see anymore of these multi threads, when there is already a discussion on the topic, it will be merged.

it would be cool if some stages got old and worn would really show how much time passed instead of just saying 17 years and giving Siegfried a beard
 
I want them to get creative with their stages. If they're going to bring back the ship from SCIV, set it in a thunderstorm, with rolling waves. And make it obvious.

And bring back Yoshimitsu's stage from SC3, with all that lava and the floating wall.

And give me some simplistic stages, like Li Long's bamboo raft from Soul Blade.

totally this. looking at the ship stage, it's odd that the ship has been a little bit more broken down, but apart from that, it should be a lot more rotten after 17 years of never being cleaned.

also, some rain would be nice. somebody on project soul said (don't recall who) that weather effects are difficult to establish because they would eat up processing or online resources. for one, even the ps2 could handle rain in SC3 and for two, weather effects cannot eat up online resources as it's not necessary for every raindrop to be animated precisely equal to both players (unlike character model movement). the stage mechanics as well as character design and stage models come from either one of the participating consoles and are not transmitted in the datastream. so i really didn't understand why they would bring forwards such a lame argument....

"If was the one that chose i will have bring in a normal classic Coliseum (as usual i like way more realistic locations) with big crowds of people as public (actually they yet made it in SC4 circus stage) that applause/scream/cheer etc

Maybe with active sounds effects(but not invasive as volume),something like they cheer during attacks exchange,they boooh after 4-5 seconds of inactivity and they get mad when somebody win :D"


The fun thing is that after many "Coliseum", the best Coliseum of SC was the SC4 "Circus"
Take away the wierd cage-ring,the elephants,all other circus thing, tweak it to sun day and you have what your pic show

But still SC5 new one is cool
Sure,was better without the giant statues and with a big crowd of peoples,but still is cool atmosphere
 
i thought we got over the 'public' or 'crowd' thing since it's too highly unlikely.. ^_^

I haven't noticed a thread about multi tier stages being in soul calibur 5, and if there is one sorry.
I am sad to say that all of the stages project soul has shown are not multi tier. I know project soul is capable of doing such but I am afraid that these types of stages will be ignored again in soul calibur 5. Hopefully someone from project soul will see this thread.

What are you guys looking for in a multi tier stage? Would you want it to kind of be like tekken 6 where you can only go down one level, or would you like there to be many levels to fall through? Should soul calibur even have multi tier stages would they mess up the style of the game?

It would be nice if there was a sage where the ground breaks and the characters continue fighting were they fall. Many people wont agree though, I'm sure of it. Can break the flow of the gameplay or whatever lol.
