Don't worry about tiers too much in umvc for right now. Some characters with nerfs are getting buffs simply by air x-factor and new team builds will open the floor up to new tactics. We might suddenly learn MODOK is unstoppable with Dr. Strange assists and negate all dooms buffs.

I kinda realized that I am greedy as hell with Taskmaster, but I will look for ways to do moar damage for less.

I already have something in mind for Sentinel and Dormammu. I will just wait and see...

You got a point. This game is keepaway heaven.

Sora the dummy isn't set to recover in these combos BTW!!!! You cannot do that on a player.
Still its possible with assist to get near a million with the right assists and 1 meter.
Watch the combo counter. You see it not reset, right? Yes, that's because it's a real combo. If the dummy could escape, the counter would reset. Duh.
This game is keepaway heaven.
Incorrect.

Really? Didn't Seth say they were making the game more keepaway heavy? I mean I heard right if I recall.
They are trying to balance the disparity between the powers of rushdown and zoning. Unfortunately, these "buffs" to zoning were primarily through the airdash nerf, which does not affect the best rushdown characters in the game significantly. They did buff two of the best zoners (Doom and Dorm), but there is a very simple answer to all of this: Teleports. Dante, Vergil, Strider, Wesker, Phoenix, Doctor Strange, etc. All of these characters are more than capable already, plus they have one of the safe ins left on any member of the cast.

I expect top 5 to be Viper, Dante, Strider, Vergil, and Phoenix, and I put Viper there merely because she is broken anyway, and does not need a teleport to be so. Top 10 will probably be Viper, Dante, Strider, Vergil, Phoenix, Doom, Wesker, Dorm, Strange, and probably Zero. Just a guess, and we should obviously wait until the game is released. However, for a moment let's assume this happens. Take a look at the focus of each of these characters, and you will see that only 2-3 of them have a focus on zoning (Doom, Dorm, and Strange).

Ergo, rushdown will still be significantly more dominant.

Teleports are extremely unsafe though, I mean just because you can teleport it doesn't mean that you have an easier time getting in. If I see a teleport I will immediately go for an air throw, and after watching how strider teleports I can see grabbing him out of it won't be that hard to do. Wesker is a harder character to stop, but in ultimate they slowed down his samurai edge teleport time so it wont be as hard to deal with.

With the top 10 thing I agree with Viper being on that list as she has been slept on for so long that people barely started to discover how amazing she is a character. I can see Ghost rider being a really strong character a higher lvl's but only time will tell.

Umm...good point. Capcom never seems to get it right.:D but I think you're not giving love to some of the new blood. I feel Nemesis, Ghostrider, Phoenix Wright( say what?), Rocket Raccoon. Frank west will be a solid mid tier. Let me explain three of those picks.

Nemesis: Yes he needs to assist to get in, but this dude is just insane. Strongest combos, projectiles, and did you see those resets by Max? Yeah, he is Hulk on crack. I wonder if those two will work well together.

Rocket Raccoon: He has two things. Projectiles and his height. He will be annoying as hell to lock down. He has good projectiles that don't seem slow, solid dmg, and has a way to run away. Have fun catching this guy.

Phoenix Wright: now after watching max's video on him. I gotta say he might be slow, but he has a shot to be super scary. He is just going to take a little time to get use to though. I see legit ways to keepaway and it seems he has ways to find evidence to make the magic happen. And let's not talk about turnabout mode my good man.

characters I think that will be very solid, but not scary.

VJ: He can finally put a good fight with the new dodge move and can OTG BY HIMSELF. That was one thing that held him back in Vanilla. He will be use more.

Morrigan: Better dmg, meter sucking fireball that is just better overall, and I just got a feeling she will be better overall as a character.

Chun-Li: It's Chun. She is suppose to be mid tier.

Frank West: Like I said before, he will be solid. His dmg is insane and that zombie toss is legit. The level up system looks interesting though. He could better than I think he is.

Call assist + teleport. I do it with Dante all the time to make his teleport safe. It's not hard.

Rest of your post is good though, so I won't dispute that. Yay for Viper props.

I definitely agree that the new characters in this game will see a lot of play time, and will be very capable. They all got incredibly solid move sets, and I can already see the potential. I may not agree with your reasoning, but for all purposes of this discussion, I'll just note that I can see what you're saying, and we'll leave it at that. Now then, as for the other characters, I want to say a couple things...
Morrigan: Better dmg, meter sucking fireball that is just better overall, and I just got a feeling she will be better overall as a character.

Chun-Li: It's Chun. She is suppose to be mid tier.
On Morrigan, one thing in particular that basically breaks her: the airdash nerf. Morrigan is practically a new character now, because she won't even be able to dash (She has no ground dash, just a ground-to-air-dash) without calling an assist. That hurts her severely. I never deem a character obsolete in a game as creative as MvC3, but she is definitely going to have it rough.

For Chun-Ri, I'm not sure if you know this or not, but Chun is low tier in 3.0, and rumor has it that she's the worst character in the game in Ultimate. So yeah, Chun players will have some work to do in UMvC3.

Chun for worst character? I can't see that. I knew she was low tier in MvC3. I mean if it were up to me, I'll keep her out of these game. She doesn't fit them at all.

Too early to call Chun the new Hsien-Ko tier I think. Not until people try to lab her -- she received new tools that no one, even Maximillian, really knows what can be done with them yet.

@Cosmic Since it's been a while and quite a few posts has been made since my last dealing with the Quicksilver glitch (thanks to a surprise gift of Batman Arkham Asylum and City, which i'll be getting back to), i won't continue it here, but will do i PMs if for some reason you wanna keep going, which i assume you don't.
BUT you're wrong lol. So just msg me if you feel like going on.

I will say that Top list looks strong, and a most likely lol. And Frank looks hilarious.

I really hope they do something about this, maybe let her block out out ground-to-air dash or just give her a normal ground dash. I really want her to be good.
Dorm looks like a beast though.

I have no interest in discussing road maps with the blind. So no thanks.

She is good, you'll just have to build a team around her, methnks. In MvC3, at least from what I can tell, there are three types of characters: Characters that fit into (and complement) every team, characters that that are put onto most teams specifically to complement something/fulfill a purpose, and characters that have to be carried by a team. Morrigan is most likely of the latter, but in a game as creative as MvC3, anything is possible.

What I don't get is why she even has the ground-to-air dash. It was good in games like CvS2 that didn't have air-dashes, but in Marvel its just an inferior air dash that leaves her lacking in ground movement.
