FPS...the perfect excuse for a lame game

I like how people are talking about how bad shooters are but really they just want to complain about MW3. I don't think anyone has defended CoD yet, so I think it's obvious all the "shooters" that have ruined the genre are coming mostly from one producer...

You're still missing the point. Call of Duty, as shameful as it may be, still wasn't created for its single player. Can you rate the single player experience for Quake 3 Arena as well, please?

I happen to have LOVED CoD4!! I played that like I play SC now! Level 10 prestige the whole 9 yards. But when MW2 dropped, I played it for like a week and then raged quit cause that shit was straight broken.

But Im here to defend CoD....cause as a whole...I liked the series.....assholes

T_____T you haven't played FPS till you've mastered mouse/key. It's not like stick vs pad, there is a direct advantage not preference. Though I do use an xbox pad for some vehicles (chopper/jet/EOD) because they have a locked rotating speed and you get way more control.

It took me a while to get used to but I'll never go back to mainstream console gaming. PC games look the best and you can use almost any controller if you hate the keyboard and mouse. I used to talk shit about the PC until my friend convinced me to build one.......now i hate on consoles. How ironic.

Well sometimes it can be seen as being angry at devs supporting platforms unfairly. Generally PC should be the standard for ALL competitive play simply because of it's superior capabilities, but due to cost and number we're seeing consoles get all the love and it's hurting PC. It's kinda like when the devs support casuals and not the competitive. Both deserve their share but with COD it's really fucked up how much XBox is supported, PS3 is ignored, and PC gets shafted. Often these are due to limitations of each such as lower multiplayer cap or gfx, but sometimes they're marketing decisions and only help 1 party. It's also annoying to see console tournaments creep up over PC, when the competitive players ARE the PC crowd. There was a huge BF3 one...console only both systems. I was pissed.

Thats what I'm saying though i don't agree about it be amazing at all. Why tack SP on in the first place. I feel like they do it just to distinguish themselves from COD and NOT to actually make something good.
 
Counter strike is huge on PC...Really except for Halo and COD (starting with MW2) FPS has always been PC oriented. These are the only franchises that stray. If consoles would just allow mouse/keyboard (and not the off brand pseudo answers we have now), then it would be fine (They're $10 for a set...no reason anyone cant get there own if they don't wanna use pad). Sure the content and perks might be different (servers and etc...), but at least I could retain core gameplay and not be forced to use a lesser peripheral to water down the game play even further. Really for me it's all about hating pad play, you simply can't do what a mouse can.

Consoles are only convenient, but they ultimately are inferior in the experience unless a dev specifically ignores PC. But competitive play is not about convenience, it's about playing it to the best of the games abilities.
