Soul Calibur 5 Guest/Bonus/CAS Character Discussion

that looks like a pickle...
Saw that too. It looks kind of fuzzy though, could be the raccoon tail they had in Broken Destiny. Then again, this is online we're talking about, so that hardly matters.

I'm glad they aren't cramping any creative possibilities due to perverted prospects though.
The one beside it. from the left. The one with the ball. Unless thats the head of the item.

I wanna put Voldo's cod piece on a chick though. My dream since SC3.

Hmm, apparently every character has different stats. I think they mean the same as seen in the CAS trailer . Ease of use, power, attack rate, speed, and reach.

Example, Mitsu's one excels in ease of use and raw power, Hilde's one has lots of reach, and Natsu has a fast attack rate and speed.

One thing of note about the select screen is the two blanks (Ezio and CAS select on the main screen). One would likely go to the CAS only style mentioned a while back (though we didn't get further confirmation). Wonder what the 2nd blank could be used for (as having a perma blank is just bad design and lets all sorts of nasty rumors spread), I'm guessing DLC/Bonus slot (for Damp and any who join him)

I'd think that those will get their own spot in the standard selection screen and the CaS one, so, they wouldn't appear in Ezio's place. Anyway, I guess both Ezio and the CaS slot will be just blank spots in the style selection screen, unless we do actually get 1 or even 2 exclusive styles for CaS.

Anyway, am I the only one who's starting to think that there'll be no random selection box at all? Even that demo with CaS didn't have a spot for that when they showed the character selection screen. I don't see why they'd only add it late in development...

Having watched the Ustream and the CAS trailer, I discovered something interesting with the Body Menu in Character Customization just now...

First look at this image during the CAS video we saw on the 2nd:

Now look at this image of the Ustream:

Notice something missing in the Ustream? The facial paint! Incidentially, it's a woman being created in the second slide. Now despite previous screenshots showing a female creation, we got to see that there is an extra slot. In the video, we see options for faces and notice there are only eleven instead of the many variations for men's face. Why did they have those many faces? Facial hair! Why would a slot go missing? Because we will now be able to edit facial hair on men. Then again, this is just wishful thinking. In case you are wondering, this build's choice of facepaint is in the coloring menu.

Your links don't seem to work...

I do believe that we saw a very early build of CAS on the 22nd and that the Nov 2nd build was likely a newer edition. It's probably because they did not want to accidentally show anything by accident so they played it safe and used an earlier build to prevent announcing something ahead of schedule.

I think Daishi and company were expecting to use the most recent build because they said they were going to use their own created (past tense) characters for the stream. The fact they did not have them means that this was not likely the most recent build.

edit: this might be why they spent half the time discussing recent and future events rather than show gameplay.
