Viola Story

I Agree that viola is amy, but I Think it makes no sense for them to do it.

I feel like they heard people didn't like amy's fighting style so they found an obscure way to change it. Its funny because people hate fighting against her, no one hates her fighting style when they play her. But they managed to bring hilde back.

He brings up great points, Amy should be aging just as fast as Tira, which is obviously not at all. So I don't know where these boobs came from, and how she switch her dominant hand, or anything like that, I also don't know how she just escaped the man who practically had her on a leash, or why, of all things, she completely missed the sword that was next to her when she bumped her head, and decided to make up her own ridiculous fighting style.

Don't get me wrong, I have wanted a magical character that actually utilizes it in their fighting style since I picked up soul calibur, but I also happened to like Amy's style in three and four.

What I love here, is people talked about the fact that they didn't hate Amy because of her style, but because of her gothic lolita outfit. But guess what? Last I checked she's still rockin that shit. Congrats.

Also I still don't understand why people, including myself, are getting absorbed into arguments like this. We will find out EVERYTHING after someone goes through story mode. I think its safe to say that Amy as a style is dead and gone, but EVERYTHING about the character is here to stay. Which is fucking great considering I hated Amy as a character, I just liked her way of fencing more than raphs, no matter how unrealistic a way of fencing it was.
Do you like going back and forth with opinions? This post is confusing with such a cluster of emotions.
I also dont see why Amy is "hated" for her clothing considering she is "dark" and you say people hate fighting her? But like her style? ugrh >_>

yeah heres the dealio~

they hate too lose and love to win, thus hate fighting her but like to use her.

Ask a multitude of people that hate amy they'll hate on her clothes. But more often than not people don't mind her style so much they just hate her as a character.

but what I Find funny is, Amy's personality or lack there of, and clothing choice is still present in viola but people are praising the soul calibur gods that she's gone, I'm going to laugh my ass off when Viola is even more annoying to fight than Amy was...

Yes. This fanbase grows more and more infantile the more user-friendly the game gets. They should have just converted Amy's style and deeped/Nerfed it like they did with Hilde. I personally find Amy Unique as a character. People dancing on her grave but kissing Viola's possibly even cheaper ass is just pathetic.

Apparently, hes still looking for Amy, or is WITH Amy judging his ending qoute. Why would she be mentioned in the same way, if she was not in the game as herself?

Ah, I understand now. Thanks for clearing that up. Anyway, you've made a very valid point when you mentioned his ending quote. "You shall make a fine pet for Amy."
By saying that, it does seem like Amy's with him but it could be an old habit of his. Or the fact that he's saying this in future reference for when he finds his daughter again. I'm pretty sure he's looking for Amy but he hasn't found her yet. He's known to be 'Wandering For His Lost Love' after all. But the biggest point Amy wouldn't be herself in SCV is because she's a clone of Raph. There's an interesting thing to note which is:
1)Raph apparently died in SCIV but he came back to life somehow.
2)Amy went to look for him in SCIV
3)Viola has amnesia.
As a writer, I sense that there's a connection underneath it. I don't just note the fact that Viola looks very similar to Amy. People have commented before about Viola's hair being white but that is possible side effect from Soul Edge. (Maxi had white hair when he was taken over by Soul Edge in Kilik's story in SCIV).
Now, I'm a very civil person and I completely respect your opinions. This isn't an argument. It's a rational discussion and I look forward to hearing your views and such. Everyone has different knowledge and evidence and as long as they're presented in a cordial manner, all should be well.

Seriously If this is how Raph will be then his life will be even more redundant then Maxi's (if thats possible.) He's evil now, he should want to hunt down Pyrha or Patroklos for his new world plan. Then Amy and Patrick fight over who's ideals are right.

Patroklos - "I will show you the price of Justice!"

Amy - "Only the victor can decide what is justice"

Aren't we not supposed to be talking about Amy? Besides if you kept disputing, then we'll never get back to Viola's story. Please go to the Official Funeral for Amy thread if you want to dispute or go to Amy's forum if you want to alk about her. Thanks

I say Viola meets Raphael at some point in the story, but then they fight to the death and when Raphael kills her or just seriously injures her.
Then being so upset with himself he kills himself, but then Amy comes out of the bushes and goes "wats going on guise?"

joking about the amy part

I don't see how searching for your child is redundant to be honest. And Maxi's now referred to as "His Past Has No Bearing" which probably means that he's moved on with wanting revenge. And the cool dandy is now travelling with Natsu, Lexia, and Xiba. This opens up many new possiblities. Please don't say that he's just a baby sitter.
After all these years, maybe Raph has finally wised up and realized that a new world won't make him and Amy happy. Family does. He's not technically evil (like Cervantes) you know. He doesn't mind killing people to achieve his goals and his views on the world is rather negative but it's not like he's revels in violence and death. This guy was a noble so he's used to sacrificing others and stepping down on others. It's how he was raised. Ruthless yes. Evil, not quite. He did shower the only person (Amy) who was kind to him with love. So he's just the type of guy who will repay you by tenfold if you help him. But you'll feel his wrath by tenfold if you try to mess with him. And I ask you, if he's not searching for Amy. Then who could it possibly be?

You know what the question that exists for me is why the producers and developers can't just outright say she isn't Amy. The only thing they tell us is that she is a new character [play style wise] and that her character is very important to the story that they are trying to create. Why not just announce that she isn't/is to put the matter at rest?

I will now answer my own question...regardless of whether or not she is/isn't Amy by not deconfirming the rumor of her being amy they get a bunch of people who were fans of Amy to pick up the game in order to find out what happened to her and whether or not they or the other people are right. As such Namco may sell a game or two more by not saying anything...they are doing the same thing with Leixia, Xiba, Natsu, and Nightmare which all have their own theories on who they are or where they come from. Not saying anything = $$.

The one thing to argue for the aging argument is that Amy was not directly affected by Soul Edge but rather through Raphael. taken directly from the soul calibur Wiki (so prone to incorrectness): Amy's eyes were originally green, however they became red in Soulcalibur IV. The reason for this is unknown, but if Amy follows the same vampiric concept as Raphael, it could be due to the simple fact that the spritual taint of vampirism had not fully taken hold untilSoulcalibur IV. This would mean she was still under the curse of vamprisim inSoulcalibur III and not yet a creature of the night. However, it is clear she completed her transformation into a vampire in Soulcalibur IV, with the advent of red eyes."

I believe here we have evidence that Amy's malfestation occurs a bit more slowly than Raphael's. This could be used to explain how Amy managed to age despite being similar to Raphael in design. It is similar in the way that Ivy herself was 28 when the story first began and that she did not stop aging until 32. Perhaps Amy also did not stop aging right away. this is mere speculation though and is likely completely wrong. I just want to throw out that characters can age for a bit before their aging stops. Might be off with lore mind you but whatever.

so again I reiterate that I personally think Viola = Amy is probably but can also see ways that would dissuade from this opinion. unless any new info is actually revealed though that puts this question to rest she is simply Viola a character with amnesia.

Yes yes, you're quite right. Back to topic...
I prefer Viola without the claw! :D

But if Viola is Amy then this has everything to do with Viola's story. just saying.

without knowing anything else about Viola we can't possibly know what her story is going to be aside from the fact she will likely try to find a way to regain her memories, get hunted by Raphael who thinks she's Amy (if she is her own character Raphael will probably think she is Amy regardless), travel with Zwei, and tell peoples fortunes (wandering seer).

Yes, but you guys were disputing WHETHER she is Amy or not, not how that would incorporate the story. Yes, that'd be a major part of it but it's the fact that your were disputing.

Wait a minute, why'd I like that! CLAW FTW!
XD personally, i didn't mind whether she kept the claw or not but after watching a few videos, I've noticed that people tend to use the claw more than the orb. If Namco somehow finds a way to add in more orb moves and balance the two then that would be better. Anyway, by removing the claw, people would now be forced to use the orb lol.

I think that they use the claw because their noobs with Viola. XD and they don't know how to really use the orb so they afraid they might make one bad move than lose. But we can discuss this in Viola's discussion thread.

I think Viola and ZWEI should meet Raph and then they fight, but Raph goes vampire and beats up ZWEI. Viola gets mad, they fight and Raph wins. Takes her back to the castle, Viola remembers everything that happened, and it turns out that when Raph had Soul Calibur it tried to destroy both of them, but Raph tried to destroy it. They collide, their was a flash, and they both have amnesia. Raph remembers because he was already completely malfested. Viola didn't because she wasn't completely malfested. That's my guess.

Okay, I realize saying to not mention Amy was a mistake. I was looking for creativity. So anything goes alright.

Okay. Why isn't the claw available for Cas Characters? They're going to use it a lot in there gameplay. Why does only Viola use it?

They're trying to figure out what to do with Viola.
