Algol General Discussion/Q&A

People who complain about spamming are just people who won't atempt to learn to counter a move. They just try and guilt the other person out of using it instead. Learn to adapt.

I went Story Mode(unlocked that bundle of characters) > Legendary Souls(pick up Kilik) > Quick Battle for Algol.

You'll have to clear a few "players" before Algol ones will man up to challenge you. Be on the look out for one named "Teramos" he is easy as shit to beat. Once you do, you'll unlock Algol and his stage.

awesome news! thanks Rekano. I'll just train up with nightmare a bit and then get right to that tomorrow
 
Yeah he's not showing up in Quick Battle for me either, and I have everyone else unlocked. Done about 20 quick battle matches so far. There's.. no way.. that I can beat Legendary Souls mode. Kilik took me so many tries to beat.

edit: This is what the guide supposedly says..

"Algol: Defeat Algol as CPU, either as boss of the Legendary Souls or at Player Level 12 and three times in a row in Quick Battle or Player Level 31"

I got him to show up at Player level 13 after beating I think 6 opponents in a row. I don't think I took three rounds in a row on him though, but he still unlocked after the match.

max dmg combo meterless is 44b 66a+b 4ba

66a+b is your best zoning tool..safe pushes out at tip launches a mega bubble..fast kills step ok and genersl rapes

1b is hella bad=(

Yikes! Sorry guys. I didn't even take player lvl into consideration. Even more sad, I had to find my answer on fucking gamefaqs.
 
FINALLY got him. Was level 13 when he showed up with the name TERAMOS, C4 rank. Whoever decided to make Algol this annoying to unlock needs to be shot with a barrage of bubbles.
 
Got him around 7 pm yesterday. Beat legendary souls mode for it since I didn't think it'd be hard. Took me about an hour since I suck (that and the lack of Setsuka mu experience killed me when I got to Edge Master) I've gotta say, Algol plays a lot more interesting than his previous incarnation. Only thing I hope for balance wise is they nerf his CE. I'm sorry, even if I do like him, 168 damage from 66B>236236A+B+K is enough to make babies cringe.

They gotta nerf Nightmare's Super because by accident I did his Super and my opponent didn't attack me and when they waited for the counter to wear off he still did his super, killing my opponent. That shit did 99 or 100% life for one bar


I feel that Algol's super should do UNSCALED DAMAGE if you gonna waste two meters for his super.

Eh, to be fair, if nightmare accidently does super, all you have to do is step. You can actually make the auto-GI whiff by being off axis, lol. That's assuming you screw up the punish.

Still, yeah, I don't think Algol's CE is worth it when you got 66B BE.
 
Is everyone aware that after normal CE you get a free 4BA QI A+B for like 60 dmg. Also does it feel like bubbles are useless or is it just me.
 
I want to figure out what followups can be good after 4BA QI A+B, B (when they are in the air). I'm a see what is guaranteed after the launch.

Though, I realized that sometimes they are launched super high, and other times are barely launched at all. The damage values are also different depending if they try to tech the bubbles or not.

Yeah I found that as well, if they try to ukemi (any direction) the bubbles CH hit them so the damage increases. I didn't find anything guaranteed after the 2nd bubble but I didn't try stuff for too long.
 
Unlocking this motherfucker is proving to be a pain, because of nightmare's shittyness.

Do I need to win 13 straight in quick battle, because it ain't happening with legendary?
