Which characters would you have killed off?

Cervantes: Love his fighting style and he's been there since the beginning.. but god, he's gotten more "husky" in every game. I don't want a daddy... daddies are so over-hyped. :(
Xianghua: Too... damned... perky. flkfhsdlfg. Same for her daughter. ;.;
Maxi: Cocky people are annoying and deserve slow, mutilation-based deaths. o3o
Aw I think Cervantes looks sexy for an old pirate. :D
I agree with Xianghua and Leixia but hey, the soul calibur needs diverse characters so it's probably best for them?
Maxi should have been replaced me thinks. >_>

i wonder his true style is the Setsuka one then in the next sc game there will be no athenian style for him anymore?
but yes i prefer this personality for him
as for Pyrrha i have no problem if she still nice but i realy hope she will stop apologizing when she fight lol

the entire plot of sc5 was sadisticps team fault
they are the one who wanted the ruin of the Alexandra's family for their fail story
Sophitia wanted to protect her children and to have an happy family, that the true Sophitia
if you want to blame someone for the sc5 story.blame the sadistic ps team who soo much disrespect Sophitia and her family

I hope that in SC6, they have him ditch Setsuka's style. I'm sorry but I think he should keep the Athenian style or at least get a weapon like a true long sword instead of Sets style. I love her style but I feel she should have had a proper replacement. Like I said, I kind of think PS made Pat's true style Setsuka's so they can justify it returning (which I'm grateful, I like the style a lot), I just don't think Patroklos should represent it. And same about Pyrhha, I hope she stays nice and humble but cuts the cutesy apologizing act, it gets VERY annoying hearing her say "sorry" so freakin much. Even more so then when Patroklos' says "JUSTICE!" Gah.. -__-

And I never knew that a different writer wrote the story for Soul Blade/Soul Edge. The more you know :D

Ok, here's my picks:

Killed Off
Astaroth: Ever since SC1 & SC2, I kept focusing on why his heart was always on the outside of his chest and why no one ever went MK on him (I'm looking at you, Maxi) and just ripped it out of him.

Voldo: Voldo should've been dead ten times over. At first, I liked the character but overtime, I didn't even cared. Yes, I know he was there since the beginning but come on, anyone think he's a creep and too old.

Cervantes: I want Cervantes to stay, I really do but ever since the direction of the main villain jumps from Nightmare to Night Terror and to now Algol, there really isn't anything for Cervantes other than to be a thorn in the side of Ivy. Yeah, Cervantes was an okay villain, not so much scary (until he became undead and all) but Cervy is practically being forgotten as a villain.

Patroklos: If you've watched the first few minutes of that minuscule story mode in SC5, you'll see why i decided to throw "Scumbag Patroklos" under the bus.

Pyrrha: See Patroklos... minus the scumbag part and just nothing but whining and contemplating about whether or not she should or shouldn't fight.

Hilde: Why? Female Siegfried?

Tira: Pretty much, this chick belongs in a psych ward with two strait jackets on.

Rock: He should be replaced by Bangoo. It didn't happen in SC5 (although Bangoo is now a DLC Character) but by the time SC6 rolls around, I expect to see him on the roster.

Nastu, Xiba, and Leixia: Sorry, but I love my Taki and Xianghua too much to see them get replace by an apprentice ninja and X's "kids".

Keep Them

Mitsurugi: Because you know... he's a staple of the series

Siegfried: See Mitsurugi

Taki: Who doesn't love Taki, I mean really.

Ivy: See Taki

Zasalamel: He showed the most promise character wise and he really was more diverse than any other character I've seen in the Soul series.

Talim: A fan favorite to all and like so many, I was upset to hear that she wasn't in SC5 (only to find out that she's a DLC Character) Talim brings a lot of diversity as far as fighting style goes and she's better than Natsu, Xiba, and Leixia (yeah I said it).

Maxi: He's too damn cool for words. I know Li Long was before him but Maxi won me over as far as personality, gameplay, and style goes.

Yoshimitsu: See Mitsurugi

Hwang: We ALL want to see him come back in a Soul Calibur game and I think he should've at least made SC4

Needs to be Improved

Kilik: As many of you either like or hate this guy, if it weren't for him, you wouldn't have a rod type character (aside from his "son" Xiba). Sure his story is about how he must repent for his sins and what not but at least have him make peace with that and move on. As far as gameplay, slight tweaks here and there (still mixed about Kilik being a mimic though). I think he should also have an alternate weapon like a three section staff.

Xianghua: Like Kilik, many of you also either liked or hated X as much as you hated Kilik but no matter what, you still can't deny her swagger. With Xianghua, it's not so much about her story (although there should've been some changes *cough* Leixia *cough*) but as far as her personality goes, from SC1 and SC2, she was sort of "immature". Then came SC3 and we started to see her less "immature". SC4 to me should've had a more mature, albeit sultry Xianghua. Gone with the whole "just kidding" quote as well as the temper-tantrum attacks and in with some new sexier moves.

Yun-Seong: Sure, he's an idiot, he's immature, he's a goof but what would the Soul Series be without him, it'll be dull. Much like X, he too should be more mature and I think that in SC4, he should've been at least somewhat mature but still funny.

Setsuka: I like Setsuka but the whole story of revenge went nowhere to the point we all stopped caring. Maybe if Setsuka was made into an assassin or joined a band of assassins as part of her storyline, that would've worked.

Sophitia: Instead of having Patroklos and Pyrrha take her spot (as well as Cassandra), Sophitia should've been the new Nightmare and not have an Omega Pyrrha. It would've made the storyline interesting and give Cassandra something to do.

Cassandra: See Sophitia

Raphael: The whole vampire angle to me was totally out of left field but at least make him a ruler of a small nation or something. Raphael has style and arrogance but at least keep him

Seong Mi-Na: Poor Seong Mi-Na. She was an original in the beginning but ever since Kilik stole her thunder as the staff wielder, things haven't been the same. Seong Mi-Na should at least have a different weapon, like a spear, just so she can chuck at Kilik.

I agree with a lot of what you said except that I like Hilde because her weapon concept was rather interesting and I'm beyond happy they fixed her somewhat in SC5. Personality wise, I think she is okay and yeah, she may be the equivalent of Siegfried only in a female body but her character still stands out all her own. And plus, it's cool to see a true warrior woman who isn't scantily clad. :)
I especially agree with Xianghua, they should have matured her and I'll include Yun Seong on this too. Xianghua's cutesy act was alright in the first few games but it just got mundane and tired to see/hear. I also wished they removed her tantrum attack in SC3 & SC4. It's time to grow up X lol. Same with Yun Seong though I still love the lovable goof ball. I hope if they do bring him back in SC6, he is maturer.

Kill off as in? From IV to V? Or who would I kill off now?

The answer to the former is no one. Soulcalibur IV already had a good cast. They should have kept what we had and then added more. Not pull a WTFTEKKEN3 on us and slaughter many of the characters, then give us the same damn style in the hands of a more annoying character. (I'm looking at the three Asian kids and the Alexandra siblings)

And in any case, I'm not a fan of killing off any characters. Because even if I hate them, other people like them and might wish to play as them next game. Not being able to sucks ass. I would know as, every one of my favorites got ditched or replaced in V. And the "new" characters just don't do anything for me.

But uh, Elysium and the new Kilik need to murdered. Screw the mimics. Can't help myself on that one.

I think it's time for a reboot/reimagining, tbh. I don't want SouCalibur V: Geriatric Edition like what happened in Tekken, but it's obvious the time skip was poorly executed.
That's what I'm thinking. If Project Soul really wanted to "reboot" the series, they should have got rid of the old cast and created a brand new cast. If they wanted to make a new era for "todays" generation, they should have cut everyone and made totally brand new characters to start off the new era. I'm not saying I hate Soul Calibur 5, I like the game but I've felt this way ever since I found out about the 17 year gap way back when. Of course, I bet if they did do this, the characters we'd probably see are annoying anime archetypes *shudders* .... lol

I hope the entire series gets nuked at this point- Daishi was right after all.

New title for game = less expectations for characters in said title. Keep the core systems, modify and improve them and give us an entirely new cast. Then you can say shit like "Inspired by the legendary Soul Series" with less OMG WHERE IS TALIM STORY ROBBLE ROBBLE.

I'd be down for that, but as much as I like Daishi's gameplay design I'm terrified about what kind of a setting we'd get if left to his own devices. BlazBlue/Guilty Gear/MeltyAquaPedobait are not appealing to me stylistically, but for some reason that seems like his kinda thing.

If Daishi turned Soul Calibur into an ultra anime stylistic game like Guilty Gear & BlazBlue, I might throw in the towel because those kinds of styles aren't all that appealing to me. And I'm afraid that at this point, that's the direction Daishi might want to head. But I'm hoping I'm wrong.

I pray to god that doesn't happen. Soul Calibur is/was fine the way it is. Why change it into something that is not. If it does, then Project Soul need to remove Daishi.

The sole reason why I think it might happen is because Anime is just so popular. And after seeing how some of the character designs in SC5 like Natsu and Leixia, I won't be surprised that by Soul Calibur 7 (if they go that far) will have a lot more anime-esc characters and less Realistic mixed with fantasy characters. I don't think they'd go 2D like Guilty Gear/BlazBlue but go the anime stylistic 3D route.

But I agree, I like Soul Calibur just the way it is and hope they don't turn it into a weeaboo's paradise game. Because if that happens, it very well will turn me off and make me hope another weapon fighter game arises from a different company that isn't anime-esc. Mortal Kombat is the only fighting game I know right now that doesn't have that sort of style lol.
