If you're legitimately playing to raise Player Level, then odds are you are using your actual main so you don't have to worry about this problem anyway. But yes, as far as I can tell, playing Arcade Mode would only register as 1 char use.
Some chars have Soul Edge/Calibur. Off the top of my head, I know Pyrhha Omega gets Soul Edge. I can't remember any others.
I second this. We need way more hair, facial hair and clothes. I love to create characters and like to make them as unique as possible without repeating hairstyles and clothes. More weapon styles like Soul Caliber 3, too.

After seeing some mentions about the SC:IV outfits, I decided to fire up my copy of it again and check it out. I forgot how many cool outfits were available in SC:IV. It seems like the part of the approach in SC:V was to allow more layers of clothing on the torso, but that seems to have backfired somewhat due to all the conflicting armor messages that occur. To handle more layers, it also looks like they made some of the hip pieces larger, and the result is that they don't fit properly. Thus, in many ways, I think the SC:IV character creation was vastly superior to what we have in SC:V. There are a few new pieces in SC:V that I like, but I really wish they'd included a lot more of the SC:IV outfits.
There isn't any equipment past level 53. The remaining percentage to unlock after that point is entirely comprised of stickers, patterns, thumbnail parts, and weapon effects. A lot of SC:IV equipment simply isn't in SC:V (and apparently won't be unless they add it via DLC).

CaS parts unlock stops at level 52. After that you just collect stickers and (I think) patterns.
After 53 (joke weapons), the only unlocks are Stickers, Patterns, Thumbnail parts and Weapon effects.
